  1. Where did you find this pic? I know this truck, I see it often.  :cool:

    This unit cost 1mill. The unit was made by Rosenbauer, then shipped to Germany to have the Metz ladder installed. How much did that cost...?  :confused:  :ohmy:

    This is not the only Metz laddertruck in North America.

    Was it seriously shipped to Germany? thought it was assembled in the us :/

    Actually it's based on a man chassis, There is another one here in sweden somewhere and it's a scania. Though it's white instead of yellow. 

     

    Also the one i posted can switch from amber to blue lights and vice versa

     

     

     

    This car makes me want to do drugs :(

    Actually i don't mind a prius  :tongue: (well aslong as it is traffic enforcement and not a ppv, also the NYPD uses it which is one of the reasons)

  3. really? the ones i've seen are the literal exact opposite.. low poly and Extremely Low quality 

     

    as to answering the OP you're gonna need to just delete the extra's its gonna be tedious but if you want it work you gotta work lol 

     

    Ok, just thought that it was possible to export it without extra edges. 

     

    I'm used to converting from sketchup, but i hate when it adds extra edges (it only does it on certain models and not others) xD

  4. Sketchup vehicles are usually high poly...just saying....

     

    Try exporting as 3ds. Or you can try to erase the edges in polygon mode (that's what I do when it happens to me).

     

     

    This sketchup model is lowpoly 

     

     

    Can't export to 3ds, the model loses it's smoothing groups. I have removed some edges in polygon mode but i was just wondering if there is a easier way. I want the topology to look good, that's why i want to remove the extra edges. I want it to look like it was before i exported it :D

  5. Hi LCPDFR,

     

    So i'm converting a vehicle from sketchup (you heard right sketchup).

     

    But i'm having a problem, everytime i export the model to .obj it adds extra edges to the model?, when i import it as .skp to max the edges are ok but when i import the obj that i exported it adds the extra edges. 

     

    Does anybody know how to fix this?

  6. I've had this same idea in my head in the past. Believe it or not there is a script like this for vice city :p I support this idea!

     

     

    As far as I know, the only way of doing this would be by hooking the game's vehicle spawning and changing the models.  Right now we can't do this.  There are some alternative methods of doing it by normal scripting, although I suspect it would result in more problems than it is worth.

     

    Would it be easier to add additional vehicles to spawn in certain parts of the map? (without touching the original)? 

     

    Or make it compatible with the police traffic spawn script?

  7. I honestly think Rockstar or any other large company could care less what happens to their models once they're rolling around in their own money. It's when law suits start popping up that they start caring. 

    The only company I can think of off the top of my head that doesn't like (and acts upon) models being exported from their games is Bohemia Interactive. 

     

     

    I mean that they aren't created for free. And also i've seen mods for IV that read "created by blablabla" when it should say "vehicle by (game company) converted by blablabla." And lastly they can't like when people sell their models (i've seen several IV models and even a suburban/tahoe being on sale @ Turbosquid)

     

    Just trying to say it from the game developers perspective, but maybe you've got a point...

  8. You can blame the authors of the "Hot Coffee" mod for that, it got Rockstar into a whole lot of trouble. To be fair to the modders though, Rockstar should of never included the source files in the game to begin with. 

     

    I have to be really honest about this, it's not only their fault, everybody that ports from IV or any other gta game are probably frowned upon by rockstar or any other company. Tobehonest if i were a game company i wouldn't like that people take models from my game created by my coworkers being converted to other games. These models are not free!, they are created by an individual or team who gets payed to do the job. 

     

    In short terms it's like releasing an unlocked model, people who made it wouldn't like if somebody edits their model or converts it to another game. The only models this doesn't apply to are scratch made models since they were made for free.

     

    That's why i've stopped releasing models from other games  :sleep:  :unsure:

    I don't like some of the gamemodels.ru models. I tried to import the F-150 interior, but the textures are transparent for some reason :/

     

    Might be a problem with the alpha channel, try getting the same jpg/png/dds
