I built a PC last autumn specifically for playing higher end games like GTA. GTA runs fine on it apart from a few frame pacing issues which I had to work around. However LSPDFR still lags with minimal plugins installed. I have Search Warrant, ALPR+, Traffic Policer, Police Radio, Code 3 Callouts and Assorted Callouts.

    I5 6500

    EVGA GTX 970 Superclocked

8GB RAM (this never reaches 100%)

    150GB SSD

It's got to the point where I'm considering turning graphics options way down even though my PC can handle max settings at 60fps almost all the time. I just know LSPDFR is completely unoptimized and will run like shit on even the latest £2000 i7 build.

Has anyone had success turning down textures etc to improve LSPDFR performance, or by using Directx 10?

I think the only thing you can do is buying an i7. The game itself is CPU intensive. RPH and LSPDFR also need more horsepower.

I have the same problem every time. I'm using lot of plugins like every Albo's plugins and also like you, ALPR+ (this is the worse plugin for me when driving in the city). Those plugins are doing a lot of background work so...

I also have an i5 (3570k @ 4500mhz) and a GTX 1070. There is nothing you can really do :)

    She's coming.

Can't wait for my CHP patrols haha
I think it also need coronas to have a "flashing mirror" effect, not only a light turning :)

As you like old cars and old lightbars, I Hope that sometone else will make a modern CVPI with a SLR vision :woot:

Not a lot of people like using the default cars, sadly. I do, but I prefer coronas.

Well I was not talking about the default cars

For example in this pack there is a CVPI with a Vector lightbar only using coronas : This vector could not have some light emmiters on the rotators ? The coronas are way less brighter than the other lights

In that log, it appears you have other modifications installed.

Please do the tests with only my modifications running.

Those results are only with your plugins Albo.
I used Unloadallplugins and removed all others plugins from lspdfr plugins directory before enabling lspdfr again.

Or you are talking about modded cars ?

    Please post your RAGEPLuginHook.log file.

Can you try each of those plugins by themselves and see what the results are?

Ok, After testing with only your plugins AM (arrest manager), TP (traffic policer), AC (assorted callouts) and L+(lspdfr+) here are the fps :

    • No RPH plugins : 94
    • lspdfr only : 80-85
    • lspdfr + AMTPACL+ : 65-70
    • lspdfr + AMTP : +-70
    • lspdfr + AM : +-75
    • lspdfr + TP : +-80
    • lspdfr + AC : +-80

Seems that Arrest Manager is the biggest fps eater and all plugins as the same time eats more. Seems logical.
The problem with that kind of tests is that it depends on the area.

The RPH log (you'll see my enable/disable plugin)

If you could be a bit more specific than 'albo's plugins' and determine exactly which plugin is causing out of the ordinary FPS drops I could take a look.

Please note that most of my plugins do a lot more than just register callouts with LSPDFR and it is therefore expected for them to be slightly more resource intensive.

Oh, well I forgot to tell that : LSPDFR+ with ArrestManager and TrafficPolicer :)

BTW, I use all your plugins but only these seems to make those massive FPS loss

Quick FYI that the latest round of updates has been released for my mods. I focussed on performance but can only do so much about issues with GTAV/RPH itself. Overall you should see an improvement if you use multiple mods of mine.

Bumping this topic with my today experiments
I know Albo, I'm bothering you everywhere :whistling:

I had a GTX970, I now have a beasty GTX 1070. In all games I tried, I am now able to putt all settings to ultra and have FPS increased a lot.
Proof : I'm able to run all Ubisoft Games in Ultra at solid 60fps, that is sorcery ! :teehee:

Now, about GTAV : I was in the city on a road with a lot of traffic, but the same kind of FPS loss is visible anywhere. Of course, the problem is less noticeable when there is less traffic.

    • GTAV without any RPH plugins : +-90 FPS
    • LSPDFR loaded without any plugins : +-90 FPS
    • LSPDFR + some callout plugins : +-80 FPS
    • LSPDFR + Albo's plugins : +-50-60 FPS

Maybe the ambiant events ? Some other callouts plugins have ambiants too, but are not making all that FPS loss so I don't know.

gotcha ,  i do too ,  i was using a 750 and it never gave me one hiccup ,  just seems weird that us 970 folks have these issues ,  so glad to know you think its something with the plugins ,  i have wanted to post a video forever of the problem and finally someone has the exact same issue as me lol

I'm talking with Alex to hopefully find out what's wrong.

The last thing we tried was to use NativeUI (not RagenativeUI) to find if that stutter appears only in RageNativeUI port. And... it seems to be as I don't have any stutters with NativeUI.

  9. Yeah I have a 970 but as I said its not the problem ^^
I can max the game settings and use the last 512Mb of VRAM without any stutter if I don't use RageNativeUI :ninja:

I tried with max settings or lowest, the problem is still the same and not a VRAM problem  The stutter comes even if I don't use the last 512mb.

I've not had any stuttering problems with any of those Plugins above.

Also, when I'm chasing suspects the last thing I'm paying attention to are the mountains and trees

I said that because its not easy to see when there is not vehicles ^^ In the city its more visible because every cars you are looking at are teleporting every second ^^
Its also visible when you turn the camera :)

Also, I can understand some people are not bothered by that. For example, Jeff Favignano is playing without Vsync... all of its videos are full of stutter/tearing (so its lot worse than my problem) but he don't care and enjoy playing like that. :turned: I can't ;)

Hmm, that'd be strange for it to go into the last chunk of VRAM and not lag.

In The Division for example I'm always in this last "chunk" of memory without problems^^ Solid 60fps... until some explosions come around :D
Also, I tried some things, its definately NOT the problem. I can run fine GTA5 with more than 3.5Gb of Vram usage.

SO, what's new : here is the PM I sent to Alexguirre because I realised that the problem is due to RageNativeUI plugins only

    Hi,

I tried everything but it seems you are the only one that can help me :teehee:
I have micro-stutters every seconds after maybe 30 mins of gameplay. My game is runnig at solid 60fps, its more like ONE frame is missing every second. So I can notice cars or objets on the side of the road "teleporting" every second.

After lot of testings (many tweaks in nvidia panel, overclock, testing plugins one by one, reinstalling Windows (seriously), reinstalling GTA5, etc...) its clearly not related to my hardware or software or mods I'm using.

You can see those microstutters here : (look closely to the mountains or trees, not easy to see it the first time, but if you see it once, you'll see it every time)

SO, How I understand that RageNativeUI is the problem :

    • When the stutter starts, I use the console to disable ALL RageHook plugins. The stutter is gone.
    • I remove from the plugins folder each plugins using RageNativeUI
    • I also remove those from lspdfr folder
    • I enable all my remaining plugins ingame : no more stutter

Here are my RageNativeUI plugins :

    • TrafficControl
    • EUPClothingMenu
    • Every Albo1125's plugins but policeradio (arrestmanager, assortedcallouts, trafficpolicer)
    • Lawcallouts
    • Wilderness Callouts

Each plugins above are causing the stutter. I don't have to load them all. Only one of those activated in the console gets the stutter back again. Right after disabling it, the stutter is gone.

The game is running fine with those :

    • Policeradio
    • CalloutsV
    • KeepCalm
    • EntityPersistence
    • VehicleSearch

Can you help me ? I can be your "quinea pig" :teehee:

Many thanks for your patience !

Saldy, Alex seems to not know how to help me with that

Alright then, compare the amount of textures for walls, building, people, cars etc to the amount of textures in the plants.

Yeah it makes sense for me too ;) But as I never noticed that VRAM issue before its hard to admit it.

To try something new, I lowered my textures settings from very high to high. After 30min of gameplay with about 3350-3400mb VRAM usage I never saw this stutter.
BUT, right after loading the game and forced duty, the game runned for some minutes with about 3670mb of VRAM usage without any stutter.

I'll try again during the next days to see if lowering this setting really fixed my problem :)

  13. 8 hours ago, Starmix said:

Strange, GTA V without Ragehook used about 2300MB of VRAM and when I have mods running it shoots up to about 3.6GB VRAM usage, which is why I'm concerned, since he has a 970.

Yeah, I know for the last 512mio but its strange that it happens only when going on duty and only on this game. But Yeah I'm using hi poly modded police cars so... :)

I'll check the VRAM usage, but I'm not sure its related to that problem. I also will check without my car mods :)

    @Pumpk1in

Long shot, but the traffic policer mod has an ini file.

Try turning these two settings to false.

//When true, the following features assist you in finding ambient events.
//This will add a blip to an offending vehicle. Only recommended for unexperienced traffic officers.
    //Default: CreateBlipsForAmbientEvents=true
    CreateBlipsForAmbientEvents=false

//Enabling this shows a description of an ambient event, e.g. a driver using a mobile phone. Only recommended for unexperienced traffic officers.
    //Default: ShowAmbientEventDescriptionMessage=false
    ShowAmbientEventDescriptionMessage=false

I had an idea like this : I disablled all ambient events in all my plugins : no change :/
Also as I said, any plugin from the 2nd screenshot that is not in the 1st screenshot is causing that stutter, even if that plugin didn't have any ambiant feature :/

KeepCalm is known to create stutters.

As I said in the post before yours, I tried without any plugins but LSPDFR and the stutter is here :/
In my latest try I used all of my plugins without going on duty, no problem. The problem started right after I went on duty.
