  1. Probably quite possible in TLAD, although I doubt it could be done in IV or TBOGT.

I did a test in TBOGT.

    - spawn one or more bodyguards with the simple trainer

    - also in the simple trainer we can tell the bodyguards to follow in a vehicle. Sorry I can't remember how that command's name is exactly.

    - Enter any vehicle and drive. I tested with an airtug so one bodyguard placed himself besides me but all others distributed on the other vehicles I spawned before.

Voila, they follow you in/on vehicles wherever you go.

That's been a hilarious ride. You should try that.

I made something similar in my Undertaker mod. In case of a prank call he can chase you all around town. However it's a very simple variation. I just read the player's current position with every tick event and call the DriveTo Method. Once you stop moving and he has reached a certain distance to your position (iirc it's <10), he stops, complains about the prank call and drives away.

  2. Alas the script engine of the game doesn't allow threading in any way. I wish it would.

How about using the tick event with an interval set to 2000 and a validation of the return value?

EDIT: Just forget it. I'm no member of the LCPDFR dev team and I guess you don't care for my opinion anyway.

  3. Well yeah I get what you mean but how's it in reality? I mean how's it handled if a suspect is so severely injured that he needs to be taken to the ER? Wouldn't he be transported by the ambulance and a cop is accompanying him? That would be another cool new feature. You (the cop) would be driven in the back part of an ambulance to the next hospital, together with the injured suspect(s).

But what when we reach the hospital? Hmm...

Sorry if this is OT. I'm just dreaming...

    Ugh just scrap that.

  4. i asked to julionib to make this script

    Yay! :woot:

I picture this script to act automatic. Hop on a police bike and the partner does the same with his bike. If there is no police bike in the surrounding then just spawn one out of nowhere. I wouldn't care for such a detail like having it delivered or something like that. Then he follows you wherever you drive and he adapts to your actual speed.

  5. Heck I wish GTA V would be available for PC at last. I love to cruise around and explore but I know each and every corner of Liberty City by now. When I think of the huge map that GTA V has to offer... oh my.

OMG and just imagine we had all those great mods like LCPDFR and the like in GTA V!

  6. @drdetroit: What part of "...on two bikes" and "...spawned a second police bike" did you not understand?

Also there is even a picture which shows TWO bikes!

EDIT: Sorry this was meant to be funny. I guess I'm watching too many sitcoms lately.

  7. I just got an idea while playing. Today I'm on patrol with a police bike. After dropping some evidence at the police station I thought, hey wouldn't it be cool if my partner and I can go on patrol on bike?
Maybe we can! So I got me a partner, went outside and spawned a second police bike. Alas my partner don't use it.

  8. Hello LMS,

hmm... I have nothing installed which modifies ped data in any way. Well yeah the policing script causes some random action on peds but nothing gender specific on vehicle drivers. Making a mad driver is nothing special. I do it also with my Havoc! mod and I cannot imagine that _ped.Task.CruiseWithVehicle([put insane parameters here]) causes such issues.

But you never know. If someone likes to do a code review of my mods then just go to https://bitbucket.org/rainerhilmer

So I guess there's no way to prevent that issue from crashing the game? What happens if you don't query the gender? Why is that important anyways? I didn't yet recognize any difference in the behavior of the action.

  9. Hello RedHorizon,

I tried to resolve this issue by removing ALL mods (I posted that somewhere on page 1) but it didn't help.

Anyway, as I said I can bypass aim+E by using aim+Alt+F from the policing script and the rest works like a charm for me now.

So as far as I'm concerned I haven't anything to complain about right now.

And because of this I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the developer team for the immediate fix.

I know I can be a pita but you guys should also know that I can be very grateful.

OTOH I leave this thread in the unanswered state because the issue still exists.

  10. HwInfo gives me the following:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit

    CPU: Intel I5-2500k quad core

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6870, 1GB RAM. BARTS XT (whatever that means)

    RAM: 2x4GB, PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM UDIMM, currently at 800Mhz

I own a legal copy of GTA IV/EFLC on DVD and the patch level is up to date (GTA IV 1.0.7.0 / EFLC 1.1.2.0)

EDIT: I read about savegames possibly causing trouble. So I started a new game but it's still the same.

Then I even reduced ALL the graphics settings to the lowest possible but - yes you guessed it - that didn't help it either!

How come forcing a driver out of the car works flawless with the policing script (aim+Alt+F) and doing the very same with LCPDFR 1.0 (aim+E) makes the game crash when LCPDFR is not the culprit?

    You know Occam's razor?

  11. Thank you Osopoderoso. It's also beyond my understanding how this bug made it completely unrecognized through beta. It's dead simple to reproduce:

    - Activate LCPDFR

    - force duty

    - aim with the pistol at the next available driver

    - keep on aiming and press E - BAAM!

Now I would be half-way happy if someone of the team would come here and admit that it's a bug and that they have it somewhere on top of their backlog - instead of just denying it.

  12. Thanks to the policing script I can achieve the same result with aiming and Alt+F.

I set myself to "busy" mode and just cared for the policing events. That gave me hours of crash-free gameplay at last.

Oh btw, the "busy" messages are wrong. When I press F7 I get the message "you are no longer busy and you will receive callouts" but that's the state where I DON'T get callouts and vice versa.

  13. What? You know what a daunting task that is? I replaced the Blista with the Rhapsody, replaced the Bobber with TLAD's innovation bike, replaced the Slamvan (I play TBOGT) with the tow truck from TLAD. I have the realistic driving modification installed.

No way will I do all that again! It would cost me a whole day and most likely it would be of no benefit.
I'd rather resign from LCPDFR 1.0 and go back to 0.95rc!
