Thanks for that. I'll try it tomorrow. :)
-
Heck I'm going to write my own Bean machine mod. That's not a big thing.
-
UPDATE: I have searched the YouTube help and found these settings instructions: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en&ref_topic=2888648
According to this HD1080 videos use the MPEG 4 codec (is Xvid the same?) and just 8000kb/s.
The next thing I did was to record a video with these settings. Needles to say it doesn't look as good as the 20.000kb/s version BUT after uploading both there is no difference in quality anymore. That means the 20.000kb/s video has been re-rendered to 8000kb/s!
Conclusion: Just use 8000kb/s for videos which are supposed to be uploaded to YouTube. it doesn't get better anyway and you save a lot of local drive space.
-
Well honestly not really. I was just trying to be polite.
See I don't have Fraps installed and so the information "Fraps settings to the highest" isn't helpful for me. I'd need values as I have provided for comparison.
But anyway, I have found suitable settings in the meantime. :)

Thank you srgt.scales. :)
-
@srgt.scales: Thanks but what about the recording software, video encoder and settings? And what's also interesting me is how many MB per minute do your videos have in average? Mine are about 75.6MB/minute which is pretty much already, considering my internet provider contract allows for just 7.5MB/minute (1024kbit/s) upload speed.
EDIT: I have done some tests and here are the results (always 1080HD):
10.000kb/s, MPEG-1 -> MPEG-1 creates sharper videos than the Xvid codec but more artifacts. The size is at 72MB/m.
10.000kb/s, Xvid (my default setting) -> Artifacts and blurs on moving surfaces, 70,45MB/m.
15.000kb/s, Xvid -> Hardly visible artifacts but as blurry as 10.000kb/s
20.000kb/s, Xvid -> No visible artifacts but still not as sharp as the graphics in game, 133,68MB/m.
20.000kb/s, MPEG-1 -> No visible artifacts and the sharpest result of all, 138,8MB/m
30.000kbs, Xvid -> I had to watch the video several times and also do several cross comparisons with the 20000kb/s Xvid version and I seem to see a slight increase in sharpness but that's probably subjective, 203,79MB/m.
Finally I put it to the extreme with
100.000kbs, Xvid -> no visible difference to 30000kb/s but 608MB/m! Also the data transfer rate is so high that the game got frozen for a split second somehere in the middle of the test!
So my conclusion is that MPEG-1 with 20.000kb/s is the best choice. -
Yep I sign this too. I always used to have a coffee while on traffic watch.
Oh and while we're at it: How about not (only) getting it with a key combination? How about (optional) driving to one of the many Bean machine shops? Yes I know we can't enter them but I remember the "Big City Life" mod. Place a marker in front of the door and when the player steps on it he gets the offer to buy some coffee. This could also be combined with corresponding map tags (I hope this leads to no memory issues though).
-
Would you mind to give me a link to one of your videos? I'd like to see it for comparison.
EDIT: I just found your "Test2". Well despite the fact that there are no shadows in your game the overall video quality is better on fast camera movements. I get the usual mpeg blurring and artefacts of the CBR algorithm on mine. So what recording software, video encoder and what settings do you use?
-
I know what you mean but I'm talking about the quality loss of the video recording - artifacts, blurring and the like.

Hi there,
I'm still trying to figure out what the best recording parameters for YouTube videos in HD1080 could be.
I use Bandicam but the YouTube1080 preset sucks. It records with VBR. That looks good on my PC but YouTube recalculates the data to CBR and the result is crap.
So currently I try it with CBR and 10.000kb/s for the video stream and 44.100 kHz MPG-1 L2 (why isn't there an MPG3 encoder built in?) for the audio stream. The result is fairly good on YouTube (example: -
AIm at a nearby cop and press G. Automatically makes them become your partner.
YAY, thanks man!

-
Hi there,
mostly I use forcduty in order to not having to drive to a police station and go through all the setup.
Now all that's missing is a command which spawns me a partner right where I am. I don't know, maybe there is such a command already?
If not it would be neat to have it. -
I made a short video about how I have a bodyguard following me in another vehicle with the help of the simple trainer.

Hi guys,
there's no one around actually who I could chat about software development. So I thought maybe this could be the place for it.
Maybe some of you know my mods (Havoc!, PTS, UndertakerService, EmergencyService).
My current goal is to separate the autodrive functionality from the Havoc! mod into it's own mod as it has grown way beyond what's been initially planned and it's still growing.
That's no big deal thanks to a good architecture but heck I don't feel like programming at the moment and what bugs me most is not even the code restructurization but the guide - no it'll be two guides then.
How do you motivate yourself when you feel like that?
Also I have another question to the LCPDFR developer team: What revision control system do you use?
I like git the most and there's a free hoster called "BitBucket" where I have all my repositories. -
Whoa I'd never downgrade my computer but okay, each to their own.
-
Maybe your Post help them to find a solution. I mean i have 8 gb Ram and a Quad Core and can play Battlefield 4 on Ultra and had never crashes with 095 and GTA 4 so it cant be the Machine. Maybe they find a solution
Maybe yes but the memory management of GTA IV is known for being insufficient and this seems to be another memory issue.
I'm no C++ developer so I don't know if it's even possible to make any improvements on that.
BTW I removed the TrafficFlow mod some hours ago and that seems to gain stability. I hadn't any crashes since then but I quit anyway because I faced the usual glitches which pile up over time. At first it's always the policing mod that crashes. Then some minutes later one after the other of the mods crashes as well.
-
Yep the crash happened to me again as well. I guess it's got something to do with where you are in LC. For instance the downtown area (which resembles the Times square in NYC) has more vehicles moving and parking at a time than other areas (i.e. the rim of Northwood). My crash happened in downtown yesterday.
Anyway, Downtown with a traffic density set to 25% looks like a ghost town already. Should we turn it down even further?

-
Guess what guys. The problem is gone for me and the solution is dead easy. I have reduced the traffic density from 50 to 25 and I don't have crashes anymore because of this.
-
Yep I agree to the option in the ini.
-
Yes of course you guys are right about fixing the bigger problems first. I'm a developer myself and I would also have this way down on my backlog. it was just one of that occasions and it got me pretty annoyed at this time and I thought I let you know how I think about this feature. I was just venting.
I was in the middle of a high speed chase. Suddenly the camera went away, I crashed and the criminal escaped.

Whenever there's something happening around me the camera turns towards this and I have an accident because I can't see the eff where I'm driving!
Could you please turn this automatic event camera off or make it optional? -
Oops double post due to server hickups. Sorry.
-
@Kadu: I don't know if any part of the TLAD code is also used by TBOGT but anyway I didn't face any bugs during the tests.
-
The simple native trainer function: " bodyguard follow as driver" have bugs.
Maybe but nonetheless it can be done outside of TLAD.

Probably just had the most stable playing experience

Yay it really seems to work!
The game still crashes but now it takes hours instead of just minutes.
