OGS may of had a few people, but only one guy worked on Enforcer.  I used to moderate their Steam forums back when Enforcer first came out.  Reel Big Kris, who was with Excalibur, confirmed this with me, and I had spoken with the lone developer previously on Steam.  It honestly doesn't matter who develops what, if it's by a no name developer and a small studio, it won't be successful at all, and will be garbage.  Flashing Lights may have some nice features with EMS, but it's still going to be a crappy game that looks like one you'd find on the Fisher Price website.  The reason we should limit it to only Triple A devs is exactly the reason we are in now: NONE, absolutely none of the police games that have been released have been any good.  Triple A devs may charge us $60, but at least we know we'll get our monies worth.  Enforcer, Autobahn police sim, Flashing Lights, all of these games by no name devs and the games are crap.

I have zero faith in any of these developers.  There are plenty of Indie games that I love, but these Indie devs should never again touch emergency based games.  The only GOOD law enforcement game thus far is EmergeNYC, and that game doesn't even have any law enforcement playability aside from the cars.  I truly am happy to see other people that are excited for law enforcement based games, but I wish more people would open their eyes and realize this is a never ending trend of developers making bad games because people will always buy them.

The problem is that no AAA studio has properly touched the police genre for the last five years. Only game I can think of is  LA Noire and that was in development before Rockstar took control. Battlefield Hardline was pretty much a reskinned Battlefield 3 with a police aesthetic. Unless Rockstar, CD Projekt Red, or even Sierra Games (unlikely) somehow plan to create a police simulator or SWAT game,  mods and the indie scene are all we have right now. Going a bit off-topic, I am actually excited for Police Simulator 18, and I believe it will be released by the end of 2018. Astragon has delayed the release in order  to let Bigmoon Studios  implement community feedback and  fix bugs. Bigmoon is also not that no-name since they developed  Dakar 18 (a racing game recreation of the Dakar Rally published by Deep Silver). Astragon's recent releases (Bus Simulator 18, for example) also  have more positive ratings than negative ones on Steam. Jeff Favignano and Bay Are Buggs enjoyed Bus Simulator 18 as well.

Oh joy, another crappy no name developer wanting to make a good police sim but actually won't.

Only question is, will what exactly will this game turn out like?  Enforcer?  Flashing Lights?  Yeah, no thanks, and no faith.  Until a big named developer takes on a police game, I'm going to continue shaking my head at this crap.

    I'm calling it now:

    1) This game will not make it at all.

    2)  It will be discovered that "Visionary Studio" is using an asset or two from EmergeNYC and everything will be gone in an instant.

    3) Studio eventually closes because it's 1 guy.  I present, Enforcer, who only had one developer.

Enforcer did not have one dev. Odin Game Studio was made up of multiple people before it closed down. Also, the Excalibur Games that published Flashing Lights has different people (those different people published Jalopy, a popular car game) from the one that published Enforcer. Why should we limit police game development to mods and AAA studios? Many indie studios have published phenomenal games such as SCUM. Look at This Is The Police 2; that game  vastly improved the mechanics the  original had and added new gameplay elements . So what if some indie studios develop crap police games and vaporware? The freedom of indie development allows many gems to shine. With indie development, there will always be a diamond in the rough.

  3. There is this police game in development called Responding. It is being created by a former EmergeNYC developer under the name of Visionary Studios. It first started off as a Unity project, but it is now being developed on the UE4 engine. Last thing, Visionary Studios had some drama with Wingman Games more than a year ago.

Playing google translate through a car speaker? Bringing a family member out to translate? She was probably so terrified to suddenly have a dozen cops pointing their guns at her and shouting in a language she doesn’t understand. It’s not as easy to ‘just follow orders’ when you don’t speak English.

there was no threat. She didn’t lunge or jump at anyone. She was just standing there. And they got frustrated, so they stun gunned an 87 year old.  Shame on them. Maybe losing their jobs every now and then would make them more patient. They could have killed her.

And shame on the person who called 911.

Google Translate is improving, but it's still wonky. I don't know how far the club was from the home since I don't live in Chatsworth, so maybe the family couldn't hear the commotion. Sorry for being a Monday morning quarterback, but pepper spray could've been used in this situation. It's far less deadly than a taser.

  5. On August 10, in the town of Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia, an employee of the local Boys and Girls club called 911 on 87-year old Martha Al-Bishara after observing her walking outside of the building with a knife and bag. She would not leave the property and three officers (one of whom was the chief) showed up. She did not obey commands to drop the knife due to her lack of English, and the chief even demonstrated the command by taking out his own pocket knife and dropping it. Bishara was then tased and arrested; she was released from jail two hours later. Her family claims that she was just going out to cut dandelions near her home.

So after looking into this further I am curious on Officer Development and had some thoughts.

Do you have plans for Quirks that can effect an officers performance and may even trigger "Off Duty" Issues.

IE Officer Snuffy has a drinking problem and got pulled over for a DUI. How would you like to proceed with cause and effects based on your choices?

Also since you can hire officers with experience already, do you plan on incorporating where you are hiring Sgt Snuffy from?

IE Sgt Snuffy is a 5 year veteran of Nearest Major Police Department or County Sheriff's Office. He specializes in areas XYZ from his time there.
This could also lead into being able to save officers you have grown attached to with their own unique backstories etc to hire on as you progress to different areas.

IE Officer Snuggly from Map 1 was a good clean cut straight shooter and after 2-3 years on patrol in your little township you decided to send him to State Academy to train to be a Sgt. Once you did you Exported him to a recruitment pool to save for later and quit that township and decided to load a small city of 10k people. Your first act as the new Chief was to bring in a trusted officer you know to manage your shifts etc. Maybe even starting off with a negative buff as he gets used to managing say a 5 man patrol for the rural area to now working in a small city with a group of 15 officers under him.

I dont know how indepth you want the management of personal to be but frankly I think doing something like that would make the Officers you hire more "Yours."

Officer Snuggly graduated the academy last month. He started his career with 3 years with Golf PD was trained and promoted to SGT transfered to Hotel PD where he continue his career for 4 more years and attended SWAT school and LT school. He then Transfered to India County Sheriff's Department and continued he career for 3 more years and attended Capt school.

Another thought as your looking and developing your Department. Once you reach what I would think the limits of the game engine will probably be before you have to worry about managing sub stations or Districts etc is about 100k population. You mention wanting to build training academies for your department for in house development. Maybe adding a way to improve your in house training past the default "State Academy" and open up potential income streams from other nearby departments sending their officers to train at your academy. You could also then potentially open it up to officers from around the World coming in. IE your SWAT team training is top of the line with the latest and greatest in wiz bang shit. The FBI HRT team wants to send 2 guys to train at your school. The Moscow PD wants to send 3 guys to train and take some of your tactics home with them etc. Then give you options while some of those guys are in town training to recruit them away from their departments.

Also are you considering using steam greenlight at all once you have  a working game?

Steam Greenlight is gone. Steam Direct will be used once the game is finished and working.

Ever since he switched to his own website and forced me to make an account there if I want to try his mods, none of them. I would consider exactly 0 of them essential. I used to like to use Agency Callouts and wanted to try MVGA, but there are alternatives to his mods that don't make it worth my time to make a new account on his website. The callout packs on this website replace Agency Callouts, NaturalVision Remastered looks better than MVGA, and PoliceSearch is an alternative to Search Warrant.

No callout packs on this site have the welfare check callout, and there aren't any K9 mods that allow the detection of explosives. You also can't really search the bed of a pickup truck  with Police Search.

  8. Sorry for necroing this thread, but I found some more in-game footage and some pictures. Also, while the release date has not been confirmed, VOID Interactive set a goal for Ready Or Not to be pre-ordered in June or July and a release on Steam in November

  9. Is there going to be a law enforcement designation on certain peds when you search them up in Computer+ in the next update? In the "Person with a Firearm" callout of Code 3 Callouts, some suspects will say that they are off-duty or undercover law enforcement officers. While this designation shows  up on the default LSPDFR records check and PoliceSmartRadio, it does not show up on Computer+.

    Example:

    (4:00-4:35)

Was that young man innocent and standing on his porch holding his phone when he was shot?, mistaken identity during a foot pursuit?. Or did he run to his own backyard and was a suspect?. I have seen video and everyone is all over the place telling me different things.

The police were looking for a suspect who was breaking into car windows and running into backyards. A helicopter from the Sheriff's Department was already tracking the suspect, the pilots radioing the officers that he shattered a  window with a toolbar, ran to Clark's grandmother's front yard, and then looked into an adjacent car. They then went to the front yard where Clark fled as he was spotted. Police believed that he was the suspect. There was a short chase into the backyard and the officers ordered him to show his hands while yelling something about a gun in Clark's hands. Finally, the officers fired 20 shots, hitting Clark 8 times. Six were in the back, two were in the front. The object that the officers thought was a gun was an iPhone.

  11. In response to the April 3rd, 2018  shooting of Stephon Clark in Sacramento, California lawmakers are proposing a bill that will create new standards for police use of deadly force. Under this proposed law, a police shooting is only justified if the force used was "necessary force" (meaning that de-escalation techniques either failed or are impractical). If an officer's use of force does not follow this standard, they will be disciplined, fired, or even charged with a crime.

Please re-introduce the community to Hardcore mode. I have recently migrated to LSPDFR from LCDPDFR and i can face 5-10 armed suspects with ease and obsorb bullets of all caliber like a sponge. LSPDFR is simply not challenging and there is no tension or fear of dying. In LCPDFR's hardcore mode you could be shot dead in the head right when approaching a suspect vehicles window. And now no euphoria mods work with Scripthook and Rage Plugin does not have any. LSPDFR's future version releases should include a hardcore mode option that increases all weapon damage and causes the player to stumble when shot just like NPC's.

The police can not stumble in GTA V, but the hardcore wounded animation should be the player gripping their stomach with one hand and holding a sidearm in the other while slowly moving.
