  1. I have yet to see anything official talking about anything for GTA V and the PC so I think that petition is largely pointless. Unless of course Rockstar has announced it in the past day or 2 then I retract that statement. Personally I would like to see what we have improved upon, maybe some files rewritten to make it more stable and of course more mods but stability is the biggest thing. I know however what a tall order that alone is.
  2. I am not sure I am worried to much about weight or size........ or not sure I should be. Air flow for sure is a consideration. As it stand now I have to turn my fans up all the way and set the AC down to 70 just to keep my system cool while playing games. I purchased this one news "prebuilt Walmart special" in 2007 and have since upgraded it as far as it can go. Cooling as been an issue since day one. In fact my first upgrade was a new AC heatsink and fan but I don't want to hijack a thread so I will get back on point. I feel for $1,000 you can build something that will deal with most anything you toss at it........... for the time being at least, even at the lower end of $500 you can probably peace something together better than what I have.
  3. I agree, my brother has told me time and time again that it is overboard, I don't even remember what it is now but pretty sure its on my newegg wishlist He keeps telling me to just use my current case and change the guts to save a lot of money. I will probable not do that but before I finally order everything more than likely I will just stick with a cheap $40 case. Not sure I will be downgrading any other items though as they will all affect performance.
  4. I am buying the parts and with the help of my brother who owns a business repairing computers will assemble it. My price so far is up to about $800 not including tax or shipping.I am pretty picky though, the case alone is a couple hundred bucks so I could ease up and probably trim a few hundred off that and end up with a very nice system.
  5. I am approaching a million views on one of my channels. The way I see it this post just gives him more power. He will read it and see that he is bothering you and it will only get worse. Delete his comments, block him and move on.
  6. Ok so with the other lines and these GTA on my system will run with the most memory and the least settings, if it still gives me trouble I would assume it's time for a new computer. Should a system with a dual core 2.8, 4 gigs or ram and a GeForce 9800GT be able to run the game good or am I at the lower end of being able to run it? i know my 1.6 2gig laptop won't even load GTA with NO mods.
  7. I just read over your PDF guide and noticed i recommended a lot more in the commandline.txt is the guide out of date? Should I add all that or just what you recommended here?
  8. Graphics are already at their lowest settings. One thing I just noticed, I have not been going to the station to go on duty, I have been forcing duty and simply spawning the cop and car. I wander if there is any knowledge of this causing problems. I have noticed a few changes since I started doing this for example the pull over script has a ton of errors as well as the spot light is completely non functional anymore.
  9. Well, we lasted almost 30 minutes before crashing that time HAHA. I did notice my strobes seemed to perform better in the city. Normally I like to spend my time on the mountain because of the lag LC causes.
  10. Ok I just did it, I will give it a try right now and report back.
  11. So just create a text file, copy and paste that line and then start the game like normal and that will help?
  12. I have heard mention of command lines but after asking about them never got an answer. Can someone explain how to use them for the game?
  13. Looks like it plays better than mine and I don't have an ENB. Here is laggy on low settings
  14. No more like 2 minutes, on the way to the first call out. I didn't see a mention in there of damaging anything. Most of the services can be stopped under the process that is using a lot of memory but a few would not allow it. I would not interfere with all the svchost processes, just the one or two hogging the memory. Is 500mb a lot for one process? I notice GTA IV on my system uses about 1 gig of memory, I have 4gigs installed and 1gig on my video card, the Diagnostic tool only sees 3.25gigs apparently. My brother tells me with this computer and 32bit OS Windows might see 4gigs but won't use it. So as we are sitting here right now Vista is using 1.594Gigs with just 2 Chrome tabs and the OS running, Add 1Gig for GTA and another .5 for the svchost and we are up to 3gigs of memory use just to run GTA, that leaves .25 free according to this diagnostic tool, Could my problem possibly be coming from running out of memory? In the GTA graphics menu it tells me it is only using about 250mb of memory. I am not sure where it gets is't info and or how it is messured though. Maybe it is talking abpout 250mb of video memory from the video card. That beign said with 4gigs on my MB and 1gig on my card totaling 5gigs on an OS that will only use maybe 3gigs is my video card memory even being used at all? I hope all this makes sense. While I know my way around a computer I am by far not smart enough to fix a lot of this stuff. My brother recommended getting rid of Vista all together. He owns a computer repair business and think I would be much happier if he installed Windows 7 64bit on my computer. With my upgrade capabilities on this 6 year old system I am worried that the performance gain will not be worth it. What is your opinion of Vista32 or 764 running on the same system specs? I did already check and mine is capable of running a 64bit OS so that is not a concern.
  15. Very interesting. Looks like I have some reading and learning to do.
  16. The Braveheart policing script. I did just learn something rather interesting. While the game last crashed it was running very slow. I noticed I had several instenses on svchost.exe running. I rebooted and they were still there. One of witch was using like 500,000K. I stopped all the processes associated with them and just played the game for well over an hour without a single glitch. Is anyone familiar with the high memory usage of the process causing game issues?
  17. Interesting, ya learn something new every day.
  18. Are the codes that modify the game that indifferent than the ones that run it?
  19. I am sure it is a lot more difficult than it sounds or it would be done already but I am amazed with all the awesome mods and scripts out for GTA IV, there sure are a lot of smart people, I wander why no one has tried to rewrite the game to make it more stable, or maybe just rewriting some problem files to make it more stable. Is this something that has been attempted?
  20. I browsed over the post above but nothing really jumped out at me. Can anyone look at the below text and tell me if I missed something that could be causing my game crashes? 21. I was thinking the same thing. I really enjoy the mods I have and I think the only way to keep them would be to start a group and requier the same mods for people joining.
  22. Explain "Command Line" please? When it shut down it was not the game, the error I got was in GTA it's self, it said I was removed from MP because my computer was running to slow. It is kinda odd really, sometimes the game plays awesome, others it is not playable.
  23. I did get one error that said it shut down from running to slow. My computer is probably border line minimum just to run the game "Dual core 2.8 with 4 gigs of memory and GeForce 9800GT video card.
  24. I agree, I am still learning. I started a private MP game yesterday with just me just to see how it's done, this morning I have some trial and error but I was able to start one, invite a friend, play for 5 minutes then I crashed, I restarted the game, he invited me back but as soon as he tried to get in my car I crashed again.
  25. Don't think I have that one, I got mine on Amazon. I think I was playing private, I tried public yesterday but somone kept killing me because I didn't want to get in their car..... strange I know.
