  1. The car is hosted on GTApolicemods.com, but as for the skin, I can't release it due to a Non-Disclosure Agreement in my line of work that prevents me from publicly releasing mods that I create, since they could be inspired from a game that we may be working on. Even though those that I have done so far, ever since I started working with this NDA, I have never based off my work from any IPs owned by the company. I just want to be on the safe side here, don't want to be sued for a couple of hundred thousands because of a breach of the NDA. I will investigate a little bit further with the HR and legal dept after the holidays and see if those could be released, since they are in no way associated to an IP we owned, but rather a different company or a city. BTW, if you want to know for which company I work for, search for one of my post in the forums or check my profile. You will understand why I am cautious with the NDA stuff...
  2. It is the FORD CROWN VIC CANINE UNIT / CVPI-V3.7L-ELS K-9 UNIT from BxBugs. Skin by me. The model can be found here http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=460
  3. Receiving calls that are very close to where you are is actually quite accurate, since usually you are assigned a beat. A beat is a sector that you will patrol and is about the size of some districts in Liverty City, such as East Holland, while Alderney may be cut in 3 sectors. Central Island would be a sector by itself and unless units doing that beat would require assistance, you shouldn't have to go to it, unless you are one of the beat cars in the sector. Most of the time, an unit may be only 5-15 minutes away at normal driving speed, but due to gameplay decisions, it is shorter in LC. The problem that I encounter is when I patrol close to the coast, I may get a callout on the other side of the river and is out of my beat, sometimes the distance can be as ridiculous as from Star Junction to Hove Beach. Also depending on the callout, code 2 or 3 may not be required, thus making the drive longer time-wise.

Interference did a Saint-Eustache skin when I asked him a while back. That was for people to enjoy since I have a NDA that prevents me to release any mods. I had some time to kill and decided to do my own Saint-Eustache skin and then convert it to LCPD by changing a few things.
  5. Thanks, guess this is what happens when you have worked on 4 mods on different engines and self-study the thing... I like to learn the hard way .
  6. Sorry for the double post but the edit button is gone. Here is a result you can achieve with the specular maps, which basically tells the engine on how the light show react on the texture: about the edit button, it only seems to show for a small period of time or not at all, depending on the content of the post. In this case, the specular map is use to show a decal on a car that would be totally unnoticeable if you would go to the other side of the car, where the sun isn't shining directly on it, or during night time, it would only show when a street lamp or something else (such as another car's headlights) are projecting lighting on it. As you can see in the following picture, only the rear end of the car shows the specular map, because there is a light source affecting it, while the rest of the car appears white only:
  7. Yes it does, in some instances, it may be called shinemap, such as in the FreeSpace 2 engine.

  9. Thanks to you both (Break and Interference) for the comments. EDIT: Oh and the Facebook plate is because nowadays in Quebec, if it ain't on Facebook, we don't remember it, just a small joke on our moto "Je me souviens", which means "I remember". End of EDIT. Sure I could use a different car, I will check on which one it would look best (I have about 25% of what was available on GPM). Also, about the LEDs, that might be a bug with the SNT, it didn't allow me to get the lights running properly, so I just left it as it was after spawning the car, but I will give the Radiance mod a try (also got it somewhere on my HDD... Hey, I have 1.75TB... I could probably store both GPM and LCPD:FR on my comp...).
  10. Here is a few more, I had more time to spend on this one:
  11. Me messing a bit with a Para-medic (usually a doctor here) car. This is nowhere my best... just something I whipped up in 10 minutes.

  15. A few little modifications for a proper use of the +livery command in wehicles.ide: The Prevention one, the officer usually sent to schools to teach how to be a good citizen and how the police is to the service of the public: The Medias Relations, those handling the medias and press releases at a crime scene or incident: And lastly, the Supervisor, the On-Duty Sergeant:

  19. Well, most often it is either Activision or EA.... but in the last few days, I could probably add CCP... with their new RMT model and a leaked internal newsletter... But back to screenies.... not LCPD:FR per say, but from a RPG mod for ArmA/ArmA 2 that i did work on, those were the skins I designed back then:
