Sheriff Van Dyck 217
Admins, please don't close this topic HI. I'm not asking for support, i'm posting this to help others and the guys who helped me before. Please read all of this, it's an explanation and below you will have a solution (It works for me, and for many other as i can see) A few months ago i've asked for help on a forum here due to that annoying problem, i've tried a lot (I mean A LOT) of "fixes" that didn't help me as much, or it helped for a while and then it took its way back. A few days ago, i was feeling sick of that, and i've tried to install 1.0.4.0, which have never gave me a problem, but when i tried that the game was f*cked as hell. Idk why but i decided to leave the 1.0.7.0 patch. I will try to be quick on this, 'cause i know it's quite annoying reading this much. First thing is, i've figured out that the 1.0.7.0 patch is not as "anti-gamer" as a lot of people say, because "it uses a lot of resources and memory, it makes my game unplayable", and stuff like that. It's a good patch, actually with this you have more memory to take in-game, most of the mods works on it, ENBs and Ice too as well, but it has a problem: Memory leaks. This one handles the game very well at the start, but after 10 minutes you know what is oing to happen. This is because of what i mentioned above, the memory leaks. It doesn't matter if you have a $40.000 PC, doesn't matter if your Video Card can handle the apocalypse, any GTA IV can escape from that memory leak. So relax, the problem is not my pc or video card and neither is yours. After a lot of researching and a lot of things that didn't work, and pissed Google off, i've found a definitive F I X (at least mine). It's a topic on this page, at the bottom i will leave the link. Once you have read this, go to the link and go over the first page, the guy over there has explained this and post a thing that may help you out. In my opinion: Don't use Cache Booster, Rivatuner, or MemTurbo. Sometimes this kind of programs can affect your system integrity. Don't put a lot of stuff inside the commandline, just use ONE command, as you will see in the link. I have a very decent gamer pc, so Is just illogical that it can handle every game i install, DSF, NFS, BF, CoD, Alan Wake, Mafia II, all those with the highest settings...but not GTA IV on 1.0.7.0, until that day. My specs are: AMD Phenom II X3 BE (No OC) Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 1GB GDDR5 4Gb RAM DDR3 MB 870A-USB3 Very decent. Here is the link: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=384614&st=60 (The explanation for the fix is on the first page) Just for a quick review, the thing i've done was that in my commandline i just put "-memrestrict 314572800" (wich is for 300MB consumption) and it's the line that is working very very well, just using medium settings on txtures, but it looks the same as using High textures, trust me, both are the same. But please read that post to understand what i'm saying. As that guy said, there are 3 types of -memrestrict; High textures (wich has more RAM and VRAM consumption), Medium (In wich textures looks the same as HIGH) and for low-res textures. Please read it, give it a try and please, let me know if that helped you or not. PS: I will like to say that i can play now for 2 or 3 hours without a major problem, textures pop-ups shows sometimes but the textures load very quick and they stay loaded up so they won't disappear, i can use a traffic fix without problems, can look back while on a car and the city stills there, etc. Please, if anybody wants a Video tutorial or a video showing how my game is now, just tell me. lordvalinar 24
and this still works with the Real Cars pack? (I had v12.3 but no matter what, or how many taxi fixes I put in, there's always the taxi bug. If I wait around for a few minutes then normal cars will spawn again :\ Not to mention I think iCEnhancer is slowing my performance down dramatically. Unless that is the leak you speak of. Sheriff Van Dyck 217
Hello there. Yes, it still works, just gonna say something to u. Like i said, no matter if your card can handle the apocalypse, GTA IV is just a bad optimized game, so please don't let your vehicles.img go higher than 130MB. If yours is above that, the game may be confused and even using a taxi fix, the game will only be able to spawn taxis. I use the chikamru realtraffic.asi and have no problems. Is just a matter of finding the perfect mix (in MB weight) so your game can load all normally. So if you are using a big car pack, try using medium settings and the memrestrict line for medium (listed above) and tell me what happens, i'll wait hereAnd for the Icenhancer, yes, both things are a deal. Most of ENB and ICE has a lot a lot of RAM and VRAM consumption, but it is more because the leak. Try using an ENB wich doesn't mess much with your game, like ENB by Vucko, it's really light and looks very awesome. For you to have an idea: (Based on my PC Specs) I use an ENB wich is light, looks great and my fraps are around 25-35fps My modded cars inside my vehicles.img are around 129 MB, high poly, and low poly cars. My settings in game: All on "Medium" distances over 30-60 or 30-30, with my traffic fix i can put my traffic density on 15 and looks like its on 50 (spawning a variety of cars)Could you please give me your specs? So i can think of a way for your system capabilities
