The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

A list of what works and what doesn't with LSPDFR 0.4. Feel free to add.

What a life saver!! My game kept crashing and I had no clue until I stumbled upon this thread!! LSPDFR+ kept doing it! haha thanks and cheers from NYC

Not here, it was the source of my game crashing, now it runs soooo smooth!
Could be a combination of two mods or more that makes it crash for some and not for others

You need to disable pretty much everything except the court system for LSPDFR+ to work. I have recently removed it though, now that Interaction+ has a court system LSPDFR+ has become kinda redundant. Only thing you might miss is some extra integration with certain specific callouts.

Mod it until you break it.

I've given up helping people fix their broken games. 98% of the fixes have included fixing an improper installation and/or having the person update their game/mods. I have literally given up fixing games because of this, because then they want a step-by-step walkthrough to installing peds, cars, liveries, etc. Like no, if you can't handle downloading the most up to date version of a plugin and literally drag and dropping it into your directory, you don't deserve the more complicated stuff. Harsh, but true.

I've left this list untouched because by now, most everything (especially the major, popular plugins) are updated and working for 0.4/0.4.1. This thread was made literally hours after the release of 0.4.

I certainly understand the sentiment here with this comment. But you really have to be patient with people. I've been using the forum for quite some time and one of the problems with forums universally, is that many enthusiasts/developers are not really skilled at writing out instructions for general user purposes. To write out installation instructions for plugins does require a skill that most don't have. There are so many things to consider when taking on teaching others how to follow someone else's thought process. It's probably the educator in me but we have many examples in this forum alone of poorly written instructions for general users to follow. That's a problem. Most people don't have a developer's mind which means that they might become easily confused with various styles of installation instructions. I've used many plugins, and many of those 'readme' files will contain nearly a full page of text only to find the 4 steps to the installation at the bottom. Or many developers tend to self-righteously assume that everyone else knows what they're talking about or what they're referring to. I can't ever assume my students know what I am talking about. Ever. I wish I had the time to go through and rewrite all the 'readme' files that I've seen since I've been here.

So, just food for thought.

TrainerV now working. Had to redownload and install. Now it works again.

But now ELS is no longer working...  I don't know what the heck is going on. LSPDFR 0.4 gas become so flaky.

I don’t usually have issues installing plugins. To add my two cents to some of what I have been reading. If you carefully read the instructions provided with plugins or scripts, models, etc. and follow them, you usually do not have any issues getting them to work. sometimes it takes a little sluthing to use openiv to search for a specific file. This usually happens when GTA has been updated since the release of a particular plugin or model you are installing. For instance, I usually find myself needing to do a little more digging on .meta files when installing models but if you are patient and take the time to look, you should have no issues. Helping those who have not followed instructions precisesly kind of reminds me of the whole Did you unplug it and plug it back in comment lol

ELS 8.1 though I have to agree with the poster above has not worked since I tried installing it. Followed every instruction, even searched google for an entire day trying a variety of fixes from the results, but could not get it to work.

ELS now seems to be working...   I have no clue what is causing this off/on performance issue. Really strange. Everything appeared to be working but then I had two crashes. The bad doorbell sound hit twice. I've never had LSPDFR do a double crash on me. I just want to know why. I've never had this happen before. I attached my RPGlog for reference.

Are there supposed to be 3 instances of LSPDFR loading?  What would cause that?

Okay we have gotten a bit off topic here so I'll reel us back in with an update. I have the following plugins and call out packs and mods done and working with LSPDFR's latest 0.41 update. Most if not all of them will work, although it's possible a few call outs within a couple of the packs may not function properly. I installed them all ONE AT A TIME and did not get any crashes. However I DID NOT individually test each call out in every pack I downloaded either. However know I get ZERO CTD's and only experience the occasional LSPDFR.dll plugin crash ( can reloadallplugins and /forceduty and resume patrol easily ) every few hours or on the odd call out. Without further delay I present to you an updated list of working plugins, call out packs, mods and scripts working for LSPDFR 0.41.

Does Better EMS work for everybody else with 0.4? How do you make it work? LSPDFR crashes every time because it says it's the wrong version. About This File on the file's download page states, "You should move all files from GTA V \LSPDFR\Police Scanner\EMSAUDIO to GTA V\LSPDFR\audio\scanner\EMSAUDIO. Everything else should work. You will get a warning that the LSPDFR version doesn't match, but it will still load. I will release a future update for Better EMS after LSPDFR 0.4 is updated with more developer API features. " I moved the files. What else am I missing?

There's a difference between being patient with someone who is genuinely struggling and someone who, frankly, doesn't know how to read and help themselves.  I have seen one or two readmes which didn't clarify how to install something, but the mass majority of them have it written out, in plain English.  The problem comes down to the individual and either

A) They don't read the readme.

or

B) They choose to be stupid and not understand what the readme tells them to do even though the language is very basic.

Saying the readmes are the issue, and blaming mod authors is an insult, especially when almost all of them say "drag and drop" and tell you where to drag and drop to.  Yes, there are some people who fill their readmes with lines of text, then put the install instructions at the bottom, but that makes no difference if you actually LOOK for the instructions.  You don't need to know any modding lingo, you should have common sense to understand what "drag and drop" means and being able to follow navigation instructions for installing.

Notice how your viewpoint about some of the users in this forum ("...who, frankly, doesn't know how to read and help themselves.") is very subjective and disingenuous.  These are personal attacks and not factual assessments. All you did was try to justify general unpleasantness rather than community friendliness or openness.  I think the latter is more conducive in a public forum.  I have a read quite a few readme text files and have seen some very well-organized and well-written instructions. I have also seen some that are not. Sorry, it's the teacher in me. I generally try to give the learner the benefit of the doubt since they're the ones asking for help. Kinda puts the one who is able to help in a powerful position where they should demonstrate a sense of humility.

I appreciate your wanting to help.

You misunderstand.  While it might sound like an attack, it is most certainly not, and like it or not, what I said is 100% factual.  All my days working in support, the very common thing I saw are the people who'd rather be handheld the entire time instead of following simple directions.  Show me one instance where a readme was very difficult to understand.  Show me an instance where a readme made it impossible to follow along with.

Again, if people are actually trying to learn and still need genuine help, that is an entirely different story.

If you look back at my original threads that I made on this forum, I asked a lot of basic requests, all of which could've been solved if I read the readme.  I was guilty of doing it as well, and my point is, most of those threads didn't need to be made, but they were because I was new and didn't follow instructions.  If half of these people that needed help followed instructions, the support sections would not be getting a multitude of new posts on a daily basis.

Going back to the original subject, though, readmes are not the issue, the individual person is and whether or not they choose to read and follow along with what they are told.
