Try to start game, Social Club screen goes black. Help.

I just bought GTAV yesterday on Steam, and after installing, I was able to start the game and play the first mission.

I then installed LSPDFR, the latest version of RPH, and also the latest version of C++, but every time I try and launch the game using the RPH, it launches the Social Club screen but then the screen goes black. Anyone know how to fix?

You should try restarting yocoputer of you haven't already. 

 

Can you start Rage, and immediately press the settings button, make sure nothing is checked in advanced settings menu.

 

If that doesn't help, redownload Ragehook, dont extract it, just right click on it, go to properties and see if there is a unblocked bottom near the bottom right of the general tab

I have restarted my computer and it didn't help. I just checked the advanced settings menu and nothing is checked. I redownloaded ragehook before opening this chat thinking that was the issue, but no luck. But I'm not sure what you mean by seeing there is an unblocked button?

Right click on the unzipped file that you download from ragehook website, its will bring up a drop down list, click properties. Make sure you are in the General tab, and look at the bottom near the advanced button. If its blocked, there will be a Unblock button, if not there will not be a Unblock button

Yes, you have a antivirus program blocking the program. You need to check it, click apply and then reinstall ragehook into gta. Hopefully that works

There was an unblock button. I checked it, and now I reinstalled all the files and am trying to launch the game again.

Ok unfortunately, to assure it will work, your going to have to uninstall lspdfr and delete the rage files you added into the GTA folder. Then disable any and all of your antivirus programs. Redownload the files and try to launch it. If you dont want to disable them, you can try going into your antivirus program and figure out how to make exceptions for lspdfr and rage files, but I'm not sure if exceptions will be good enough.

Ok make sure the antivirus is disabled, uninstall if you cant figure out how to disable it, and dont forget about windows defender, to avoid having to do it all over again.

And right click on the files you download to double check that nothing is blocking them.

Uninstalled, tried just starting game with vanilla files and it still just goes to black screen on social club.

 

Not using antivirus either. Not sure what is causing it.

What do  you mean with vanilla files, you tried starting GTA5 without lspdfr or rage and it will not load?

 

Windows Defender App and Browser Control is what was blocking files for me.

Yes, after uninstalling lspdfr and rph, I tried starting the game without lspdfr installed just to see if it would work, and it still won't work. But it worked when I first purchased because I played the first mission before installing lspdfr.

I have turned those off in defender app as well. Still getting the same issue..

Ok, you can verify the files for gta using steam

I did that, it didn't say anything was out of place. But still got the error. I'm just gonna try uninstalling the game, and reinstalling. I'll let you know if it works or not when it's done. Probably will be a couple hours.
