Backup.xml Sharing Thread

Since some people understandably don't want to create whole new backup files by themselves, I figured a joint thread would be a good idea. Here is my version:

Readme:

Installation:Copy entirety of lines over your "Backup.xml" file.

Requirements: RDE 2.2.1, livery supported sheriff vehicles and noose vehicles highly recommended

Features: Like RDE, but with more of a focus on local units and no feds involved.

Local Backup:

City-Police, Police2

LS County-sheriff

Blaine County-sheriff

State Patrol Backup:

Everywhere-Hwaycar2, Hwaycar3. No bikes since they don't get involved in chases much in real life and I hate seeing them get killed all the time.

Local SWAT ( I designed this more towards regular officers who responded and pulled out heavier weapons, as well as some less common units):

City-Police, Police2, Police3, Police5

LS County-Sheriff, Sheriff2, Police4

Blaine County- Sheriff, Police4

Noose SWAT:

All have helmets

City-Between 4-8 SWAT officers in FBI2, Police Insurgent and Riot

Both Counties- Between 4-8 SEB deputies in FBI2, Police Insurgent and NOOSERiot

Local Air-

City-polmav

County-sheriffmav, hwaymav

Was actually gonna post a thread about this.

In the file it says:

You can also specify what extras should be enabled:
<Vehicle extra_1=true>police3</Vehicle>

But if you do that, it'll crash LSPDFR... because it needs quotation marks around the true. However, even after setting it correctly, I saw vehicles spawning without the extra I specified.

I'm also experiencing the same thing. If I set extra_1=true, it gives me an error. If I set extra_1="true", sometimes that extra isn't actually turned on.

I think that only happens for the StatePatrol backup type. I have detectives using the car as LocalPatrol and it spawns in the normal range of colors.

I had strange bugs when using rde vehicles for backup. They aren't all recognized as actual vehicles by the game. When you try to spawn them with rage console, their is never any auto-complete text for it, while other mods complete just fine.

Also requires RDE for custom vehicles.

As you may be able to see, this is more for fun than realism.

Main Features:

Fort Zancudo military response, calling for noose swat and ai support has a chance to spawn the local military

Also has Highway patrol, full riot vans (8 swat members), and appropriate helicopters for different areas.

You'd have to edit the carvariations entry for police4 to add white to its spawn colors. Since the base game file is still encrypted, you'll have to add a new entry in one of the DLC pack files, and this would include adding all the other colors, too, though, and making sure the correct sirensetting value is defined.

It's extremely easy to set the colors of a vehicle via scripting, and carvariations only deals with the colors a car will naturally spawn with.

I wish they would make a program type of thing, you know, like for LCPDFR in which you could easily change some settings. All it did was edit settings files, and I assume it was pretty basic. They should make a program that lets you easily change the Backup.xml file without having to do complicated stuff.

Can someone help me i just can't get it to work. If i want local swat to respond not wearing a bullet proof vest but a belt instead, how do i do that? What i have now:

That looks correct, but unfortunately it probably doesn't work, just like forcing certain extras to spawn on vehicles, which is a shame.

No, it should be "comp_tasks" (maybe "comp_task"), not just "task". I've noticed no issues with getting peds set with the correct components using that method.

I've had a similar issue. I'm making an assumption that in the 'Local Swat' backup type, that comp_tasks is always set to 2 (Or 3, ingame editors seem to show it differently) - the bullet proof vest on police peds. Those units respond with vests regardless of whether you set a value for tasks or not it seems, so I guess that must just be set into LSPDFR. However, I've not seen the same effect in any other slots, and I've only done a bit of messing around with it, so I could be wrong.

It'll take a lot of work to do that, and they'd probably still look pretty weird. EUP is intended for MP characters player models only.
