This video's been going around a bit, and I figured I'd share it. It's a dashcam video that shows Billings PD Officer Grant Morrison's reaction after he had just shot and killed 38-year-old Richard Ramirez on a traffic stop in April of 2014.

It's not an easy job, the scariest things is having to fire your service weapon killing a person.

The amount of ignorance in the comment section is ridiculous.  It should be common knowledge to listen to commands of an officer when they have you at gunpoint.  The guy was high on meth so that may have explained the stupid decision he made that cost him his life.

It's a heavy burden knowing toy just took another person's life, we are not robots we feel compassion and we are not happy to use lethal force but we do what has to be done even though we can pay a high emotional price

wow heart felt I honestly believe it was an act of God why I never became a police officer. I could never killed anyone. And I'd probably had of been fatally hurt. I feel bad for both the person who lost their life and the police officer. What a tough decision.

 

This war has to end.

Did I see the chief or someone there giving a look of disapproval that one of his officers (or fellow officers) was susceptible to an emotional reaction after killing someone?

It really pisses me off when people think that Police just run up and down the street amok shooting people with no remorse or feeling or sense to it, as if they're just some sort of robot army. You think Police officers like killing someone? You think the Police enjoy shooting people and go to bed at night as if nothing happened? You think the Police can just move on and laugh at the past as if it's just some sort of joke? You're retarded if you do, and you're the reason that society is so fucked up. My father had to kill someone a few years ago, and its complete bull shit that anyone would think he was okay with it. To this day my father isn't the same man before that night. It's a shame that nobody cares about the officers that suffer the mental effects of killing someone stupid enough to resist law enforcement, a real shame.
