CVPI With ELS Questions For LCPDFR

I am about to dive into ELS cars (I know...bad idea but I want to at least try it).

I went to GTAPOLICEMODS and I am a CVPI whore so I am drawn to all the CVPI-ELS cars by BXBUGS123. What I am really confused about is the number of versions!?! I mean there are almost 30 of them (CVPI 2.7 H-ELS.., CVPI 7.4U ELS-KX, ect.......ect...!!!!!)!

Can there be THAT many versions of the same car? Do you guys just grab the one with the highest version number and go?

Is this the mod that everyone talks about as having WAYYYY too many polys and causes problems for GTA4?

Is there any other Ford type P.I. that have ELS6 and are lower poly count?

I am lost! Please help! Tell me everything you know about all these versions.

The variants have different types of police equipment. For example, 7.4U is going to be slicktop or unmarked, K9 at the end means it's modeled as a K9 unit (including a model of a dog, which is a pretty cool detail), etc. Since rambar and lighting are the most visible parts, you should probably look there first. The version number only comes into play if the cars are exactly the same otherwise.

The CPVI version number is showing how new it is like 1.4 = old 7.4 = new

And the letter after the version number tells you what lightbar it has. Generally, A is the FedSig Argent, L is the Whelen Liberty, V is the FS Vector/Vision, and M is for the Code 3 MX-7000, to name a few.

Also, it would probably be best if you did not use an ELS car for the police and police2 slots. This causes problems with LCPDFR, and causes the game to crash. Any other car should be fine.

Something I did notice after downloading most of the CVPI versions is that the model file (.WFT) in later versions is quite a bit smaller than in early versions. Some early versions are 5.3MB and later versions are around 3.5MB. Is this because later versions were "streamlined" to be more efficient?

But if anyone was going to mod a car with ELS wouldn't police and police2 be the ones that you would want to see with ELS in the game? I guess what you mean is that the player should drive the noose car with ELS and be the only car in game with it as noose cars are non-existent unless you have many stars.

Thats actually the reason, the old versions were quite high poly and didn't work on some PC and the newer CVPI conversions were way better with less polies, dummies etc.

Actaully no, because all that does is cause problems with the game. Very very few people can get away with those cars being modded, and not have it crash constantly. So unless you are okay with restarting every 5 minutes, it is best to not have ELS-enabled police and police2. AI and ELS are very bad with eachother, and rarely work right together. ELS is really only good for being player controlled.
