Alderny State Police Pack

I have recently made and Alderny State Police Pack, the file includes Cop car files and a way to change Cops and Fat Cops to Alderny State Troopers. Vehicles included are :

CVPI (police)

Charger (police2)

Tahoe (polpatriot)

83 Impala (noose)

Suburban (pstockade)

Taurus (fbi)

This is the first skin pack I have made so please be constructive in critisism, also the skins were made on MS Paint (It's all I have). Thank you and hope you enjoy!

blimey, I'll give that a look tomoz. too tired this evening to be swapping files about. Was surprised at the file size of the noose impala. Looks nice and low.

But i do have a question and that is you have the suburban as pstockade right, but the default pstockade is like a van, so if i mod that with the suburban you have added, will it be ok..???

Well I have to say it works fine, it seems more suited to a larger vehicle, it dosent flip over and such aswell. And Thanks!

Thanks for these. Only tried a few so far. But like aparna I really like the police stockade.

However It still behaves and drives like a heavy truck, and the handling just didn't fit in with new apperance. So I made a few adjustments to the handling line. May not be to everyones tastes but I will put it out here in case anyone wants to use it.

*Please note though this is just a change I made for my gameplay and is no way endorced or approved by Redbull Kid who made this fine pack.*

Changes I made to handling:

Increase in acceleration and top speed to suit the new model, but not stupidly so.

Made brakes more aggressive to counter the new speed.

Very slight increase of steering lock.

A small firming up of the suspension.

I also made it a 4 wheel drive to suit model, but only put 25% of the power to the front wheels.

Made a change to center of gravity for people who want to drive normally around corners without it flipping over (will still need to reduce speed)

In short I didn't want to handle like a police patriot. We allready have one of those. So I made it harder to drive. You will have to slow down on corners, or if you want you can powerslide around them. (turn in early with a slight tap of handbrake) I left the traction at a level where this is possible, and the 25% power to front wheels makes it easier to recover from a power slide.

The way of driving is it can power around very well using the right technique, but make an error and it's very unforgiving :) Want something easy then drive the police patriot or leave the handling line as is, which is basically a slow lorry :)

One last thing, the police stockade seems to share a handling line with the normal stockade, The group 6 security van. Both have bullet proof windscreens etc. So this will affect that model too. But how often do you drive the group 6 van :p

As said might not be to everyones taste but I found it annoying that such a nice new model was accelerating like a lorry.

If you do try the handling line make a back up first.

Not had time to test it much yet so may need a few tweaks here and there. Traction may need increasing.

WARNING ! This has not been tested outside of my PC yet so make a backup of your handling file just in case !

I had to remove it for a while when i found an issue. Hopefully that is fixed now. Please let me know if it works on your system. Please make a backup first as it's not tested properly.

Thx glad it works. It's a very different driving style. But it's a long wheelbase viehicle not really built for high speed pursuits. I figured we have other cars for that. But it is just a first effort and prob needs tweaking. A bit more turning radius and better traction maybe.

Anyhow I feel bad cause I kinda hilacked the thread. If I tweak it up I will make another thread as taken away too much attention from this guys fine work allready.

Sure feel free to add it if you want. But most people wont get that it was made as a different drive style. I will make another modified version that people will prob' like more and be the sort of thing they expect from a handling line. At the moment most people brake by holding down the brake keys and the car comes to a nice stop. I made that version so the brakes lock up if you slam on the brakes :)

As said I will make a more general version if you want to add it to pack. Might not get around to it till tomoz though as bit busy today.

Future projects ? can't think of anything of top of my head at the moment.

Was busy over the weekend, but as promised here is a more user friendly handling line.

As it's a long wheelbase vehicle I kept it so it was a bit lively in the rear when cornering. Brakes no longer lock up under continued heavy braking in a straight line. well maybe a little if on bumpy ground :) Still feels like a heavy but powerfull thing to drive but no where near as sluggish or unresponsive as a stockade. 4WD is now 30% to front wheels.

Sorry for double post but I know of 3 people who had the thread marked and wanted the updated line. As it's late they may have given up looking :p
