Crashing on clean install with nothing else?

Clean install of GTAV through steam, installed latest LSDPFR build 8747 with NO other mods or plugins, windows defender turned off and it crashes every time, i attempted to load the game first and hook after as well but no juice. Hoping someone can help.

Hi,

 

Based on your brief description, I assume RPH closes without hooking GTA V? 

 

Did you install LSPDFR manually by using the manual installation zip package?

hi, thanks for replying,

 

It hooks and the RAGE logo goes to the bottom right and says Enjoy! but the game crashes instantly, like super quick.

 

I tried auto first, then manual after, exactly the same result every time.

I just tested it out myself: A clean copy of GTA V from Steam. Installed LSPDFR & RPH manually - No crashes and everything went smoothly. 

 

So based on my test results, I assume you did not install LSPDFR & RPH properly.

Since you were overwriting game files with two installation methods, I recommend removing any RPH & LSPDFR-related files if you can. Once you've done that, verify the integrity of game files via Steam. Ensuring you did not remove any GTA V files by accident.

 

Now that you have a clean copy of GTA V again, download the zip package(manual) on the LSPDFR download page, and drag/drop all of the files into the GTA V directory.

 

Right-click on RagePluginHook.exe - run as administrator. On the main page, select the "plugin" tab, and select "load all plugins on startup," then click "save and launch" on the bottom.

hi, thanks again for your help. 

 

Ok, followed every instruction to the letter and it just crashes again, straight away just launches, hooks, says enjoy then crashes.

At this point, I'm wondering whether or not you can run GTA V story mode or Online without RPH at all.

 

Can you play GTA V single-player or GTA V Online via Steam without crashes?

 

Because your RPH log stops at "Done with creation." And I suppose your game crashed as it attempted to "Initializing texture system," which is the next stage ranging from phase 1 to 13.

Hi,

 

Just launched story mode and managed to load no problem, drive around a bit, no lag, no splitting just smooth gameplay, Alt+ Tab out to start RPH whilst i was in game and it just crashed it straight away after it hooked.

Here is something that might be worth trying:

 

Did you finish GTA V story mode? Have you tried to update your GTA V saved game?

Got through a few missions, never had an issue when i was previously at this point. How would i update my saved game?

Were you able to launch RPH without crashes before? Can you recall what you did differently this time? 

 

Also, try to increase RPH timeout threshold, by holding Shift while launching RPH, and change the "plugin timeout threshold" to 60000.

It was a few years ago, so the only difference was the build, GTA was uninstalled and reinstalled fresh since then so i dont think anything?

 

Ive tried the threshold thing, same result, every time.

Do you have any overlay programs running with RPH?

i also tried launching RPH without any plugins and it still just nosedived

Try to install the following, and create a "mods" folder for the Gameconfig:

• Gameconfig (mods - update - update.rpf - common - data)
• HeapAdjuster (main directory)
