So what plugins actually still work with the 0.4 update?

From API perspective, 0.4 is a breaking change and anything compiled against =< 0.3 will not work.

Anything compiled against 0.4 and later versions should work but there are API behavior changes, so I cannot guarantee if something really works well on this version. You should as least use plugins that are compiled against 0.4.2 or later versions for 0.4.9, if they are not callout.

The community uses a much stricter rule where anything is not compiled against recent two minor (0.x.2 -> 0.x.3 is a minor version upgrade, for example) versions should be ruled out.

 

Since some essential plugins by one particular author has some anti-features (must connect to the internet to play, and forced update, etc.) so you should not use those unless you can accept these.
