GTAV shuts off after 10 minutes of games

I use a desktop and whenever I play GTA4 for more than 10 min - 20 min, it shuts off with

error message, saying it stopped working.

I saw on many other forums that it could be overheating.

In that case, what do you guys recommend and could it be something else?

1. Your game can be simply overloaded with mods, try removing them all and check if the problem exist on an unmodded game.

2. It can be hardware problems, like overheating as you said - download GPU-Z and there is a "Sensors" tab - look for GPU Temperature. If it's higher than 80C, you should start worrying. If it's higher than 90 - 95, games will crash. At more than 100C, card will start melting.

It's a very, very common problem with ELS mods, most ELS car mods will cause your game to crash.

i agree it sounds like els v6 thats what it kept doing to me when i had it back in march

I downgraded to ELS V5 a while ago and crashes are now relatively rare, it's worth a try downgrading.

ELS 5 may reduce crashes, it's different for everyone. It helped mine to be less frequent, and the AI cars are a lot more cooperative with using their lights, too.
