[Request] 1988-1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Police Interceptor w/ ELS

Just as the title says, I'm in a search for a 1988-1991 LTD Crown Victoria police car that is ELS enabled. If anyone has some spare time to model one, or if there is one already floating around, I'd be appreciative. The 88-91 redesign has always been one of my favorite sedans of yesteryear, and it has always looked fantastic. The best pictures I could find of the police car specifically are below, the last one being from the movie HEAT if I remember correctly. The large, aero-dynamic lightbar in the last photo will also be one of the best candidates IMO. From what I understand, the police car wasn't all that different from the civilian model, so any 88-91 will do as a reference. Thanks for your help! :D

^^You know that right haha

I prefer the older 80s body, but that it's pretty nice, and with the Aerodynic looks badass; besides I'd love to make some textures for that. There's just one done for IV, and it's pretty bad, to small, bad textures... it should be converted from SA again, but this time better :confused:

Anyway, here's the link for the IV version: http://www.gta4-mods.com/vehicles/1989-ford-ltd-crown-victoria-f6738

Thank you all for the follow-ups; it would certainly be a dream to see this version of the LTD Crown Vic' immortalized in GTA IV as an ELS police car. :D. Seeing as the earlier COPS episodes had plenty of these along with box-Caprices and Diplomats/Gran Furys, it would make for a fantastic time.

Yeah, it's locked, you want me to try contacting him, for an unlocked (I don't know if that model will be worth, since needs tons of work, maybe would be even better converting from SA).

The thing is that this car is already converted, there for it would give me a lot less work. I could easily fix the mayor issues.

Then release a civil fix, then make a cab and police.

Well, I've asked the author of the 1989 LTD for an unlocked version, now let's hope he answer :wink:

Thanks, Strike; I don't know what I would've done without ya. Same to you, Intensified. :D - An aerodynamic lightbar w/ ELS will look fantastic in game atop this LTD Vic, as will the car itself.

Though after doing some research I figured very less departments used this car. Even the most known departments didn't, for instance LAPD or NYPD.

Luckily CHP did so I might go for a Taxi and CHP.

While it is true that many larger departments did not use the LTD Crown Victoria, many smaller ones did. If you take a look at some of the older COPS episodes, for example, you can spot quite a few among Caprices and Diplomats/Gran Furys.

Also, the LAPD did in fact use the 1988-1991 LTD Crown Vic. Here's a photo from the 1992 LA Riots, and in it you can see the unmistakeable taillight patters of the 1988-1991 LTD Crown Victoria. I've seen a few documentaries on the riots as well, and the majority of them have period footage of both box-Caprice and LTD Crown Vics from the LAPD on the streets.

I know that Boston Police used them as well;

And here's one other good example. In the OJ Simpson chase, if you look behind the Caprice that is directly behind OJ's Bronco, you can see the headlights and square-body of a 1988-1991 LTD Crown Victoria. Farther back, to the right of that white Toyota Van and the 1992-1997 Crown Victoria you can see two more of them.

Still nothing, I've contacted some more modelers for asking permission to use models before and believe me, they usually don't even answer. There's still hope though;)

Btw, didn't see the picture of the Boston PD car, I have planned to do it if ever get the model.

Don't worry about the thread, if I get answer I'll announce here;)

I did stumble across these pictures; I mentioned older episodes of COPS several times in which this generation LTD Crown Vic was used, and I remembered what particular department used them in the episodes I saw. The distinct color-scheme probably helped that memory as well;

San Diego Sheriffs sure do know how to stand out!

Assuming the original author of that LTD Crown Victoria model will never be getting back to Strike, does anyone know anyone else that undertakes San Andreas model converting? I've seen this LTD Crown Vic proliferated among San Andreas' modding and would love to have it in IV.
