ABOUT

Created a plugin that let's the player lock/unlock their vehicle like in GTA:O. Not really much else to it 🤷‍♀️

You can customize the key & modifer key as well as the unlock distance and the lock status of your vehicle.

And no you don't need LSPDFR to use it, it's a standalone plugin.

INSTALLATION

1. Drag and drop the Plugins folder to your GTA5 directory
2. profit

 

IF YOU ARE USING TRAFFIC POLICER

If you are using traffic policer, it has a feature in it's .ini file that will lock the doors automatically from a specific distance. In order disable it go to Traffic Policer.ini then in the section [Features] set AutoVehicleDoorLock to false
Thanks to @OfficerBenzo for realizing it conflicts with eachother.

Awesome. can you put a key fob ion it that also turns off sirens as i have to get back in my car everytime i wanna turn my siren off which is iritating.

sure but it might not work with ELS.

Any chance of adding a sound when you lock/unlock, similar to real life?  Could include an option in the config to disable it for those who get annoyed by it.

🤔 it already plays a beeping sound. At least it should.

this should be possible since those sounds already exist in the game. anyways this is one step ahead to realism.

Thats okies. Maybe if it has an ini setting i can maybe somehow get it to turn off the siren. ELS controls the lights. i dont mind my lights still flashing, just to be about o turn off sirens and my sirens are the default game ones. i havent added any siren mods, only the E:S lights mod and lights i am happy staying on. Its just the annoying siren when i get out quick, chase a ped and then hear my siren still going and only way at the moment to turn off siren is get back into the car and hit the siren key.

The .xml file in the download is how you customize it.  You lock/unlock with right shift+J

Yep, decided to use xml instead of ini because I have had some issues with ini files in the past, like the values being still on default even though the user changed something.

is it possible to add controller binds so you can use with a controller also maybe do a distance limiter in the modifier such as (if x meters away from vehicle it won't lock) and also other vehicles options such as options to change siren tones open trunk, toggle headlights, etc etc

Hi.

I tried your mod and it works as intended. It locks and unlocks my police car. Only thing i have found is that it also seems to completely turn off my car headlights and i cant get any vehicle headlights to work with this mod installed. I think its a conflict with ELS maybe? Or if not i have no idea what. But once i removed your key mod all car headlights worked properly again.

You can just press G on your keyboard outside your driver door and your siren will shut off and leave your lights on for ELS cars. Took me forever to realize this but it def made turning off my sirens after a pursuit much less inconvenient.

Oh nice.! Its just annoying as well when you have grabbed the ped and walking them back, to then stop, release the ped, get into the car, turn off siren and get out to carry on the frisk/arrest. Kills immersion and realism. So now i can just walk them to the irritatingly loud car and just hold G? sweet 🙂 ty!

Yep. As long as you're using ELS. I do it all the time. That, or I'll have my buddy (if on scene) watch the arrested ped while i go shut off the siren real quick.
