Detective's 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon SRT with functional flatligher

 

This vehicle is using a special abilty that ELS has to use arrowboards but with a small twist.

There is no arrowboard, instead there is a Whelen FlatLighter on the sun visor

and its normaly hidden and whenever you want you can press Alt+[ as if you would use an arrowboard to make it visible and it is actually animated.

if you cant understand what i am talking about watch this video (please note the video is outdated the angle is now 90 degrees but the function is still the same):

 

 

 

This kind of visor light is being used on low profile cars like Undercover/Detective cars. The point is that the light modules are hidden when the there is no need for the lights to be on and when the officer needs to he lowers the sun visor and the lights are then visible.

 

Please note that since this is a Undercover/Detective's car i chose to spare all the police equipment such as radars police laptops etc.

Also for the same reason there is a minimum amount of lights on the car.

INSTALLATION:

 

VEHICLE MODEL INSTALLATION

Drag and drop the vehicle files at this path using OpenIV make sure to be in "edit mode".

\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday20ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf

or at the latest patchdayxng

 

ELS VCF/XML INSTALLATION(Lights will not work without it at all)

To install simply place the provided vcf file at this path. 

Grand Theft Auto V\ELS\pack_default

 

All Blues Installation (OPTIONAL):

All blues are included in the file to install simply open the ytd file using open IV while in "edit mode" and drag and drop the textures in the ytd file.

For the correct enviromental lighting use the ELS VCF in the all blues folder.

 

Please note the vehicle is optimised for the FBI slot. (you might have to add FLAG_HAS_LIVERY  to enable liveries if you have more than 1)

If you want to use it for any other slot you must copy over the meta from the vanilla fbi slot otherwise some things

such as dIals, drivers positioning, hands matching the steering wheel and headlight coronas may not work properly.

 

Keep in mind because of the way the special ability works the Bonnet does NOT open.

If any of you want to make something like this its really simple. If you have worked with arrowboards before you probably already understand how.

 

The steps are the same as you would make an arrowboard work meaning:

 

  1. Change the Bonnets name to something else like misc_whatever and make a copy of the spherical dummy from the bonnet (just the dummy).
  2. Next make the original Bonnet dummy (now called misc_whatever) a normal square dummy (you do that under the properties tab) and keep the copy as a spherical one.
  3. and then use that dummy (the one you copied that still is spherical) for your sun protector just like you would for an arrowboard
  4. then compound the spherical dummy to your sun protection thing and make sure the lights of the flatlighter are in the hierarchy of your sun protector.
  5. then name the sun protector that has the spherical dummy Bonnet.
  6. you might also want to delete the original collision from the bonnet cause the hood pops every time you get in game not sure about this step but thats how i fixed it.
  7. Last at the ELS VCF change the ArrowboardType   to this                <ArrowboardType>BONNET</ArrowboardType>

 

(Note you can use other dummies like trunk etc. with the same process)

 

also you can use whatever kind of lights you want on the flatligher or moving part (primary, secondary, warning lights anything) as long as they are not atached to other lights.

 Note you can change how many degrees it rotates under user defined options (Thanks to Walters for letting me know that)

for me i did 145 but that can vary depending on the car.

Q:Will you add this or this or remove this part of equipment/lights from the vehicle?

A:NO, the vehcle is fictional its based on my imagination this is how i like it

 

Q:My windows and/or lightbar have tint how to fix?

A:Either take the tint off with a trainer or go at you vehicle meta and replace this line under the vehicle slot that has the issue.

A:Go to the vehicles.meta find the fbi slot and add this flag in the flags section

Q:My lights are null or too dim how can i fix it?

A:You need a custom visualsettings.dat for bright emergency lights (for example Radiance V).

 

Q:Am i allowed to make and post Skins/Liveries for this vehicle?

A:By all means you can this is why templates are included but please DO NOT REUPLOAD THE VEHICLE FILES AND DO NOT USE PARTS OF MY LIVERIES. 

You are only allowed to upload the textures you made in the texture section.

 

Q:I want you to make me custom cars for my five m community can you do it for me?

A:Sorry but i do not have the time for it and i dont do NON-ELS. However i do apreciate your offers and i am charmed.

FIrst of all i want to thank all of the people above who made the dev parts and uploaded them for Free unlocked. It is hard to find good dev parts so thank you to everyone who uploads dev parts for free.

If i forgot anything/anyone in the credits please let me know and i will add you/fix it.

Also i want to thank people who make tutorials on how to make vehicles in gta v such as Socal Thero, BlackJesus and BritishGamer88 since there arent many tutorials
out there either i wouldnt be able to do anything in zmodeler without those tutorials

can you make the red and blues shine on biulding only in the front that would more realistic. cause detective's have the red and blues shine only on the buildings in front  not sides and backs lol. just wondering if you could do that please and thanks.

you can change this line in ELS VCF <VehicleIsSlicktop>false</VehicleIsSlicktop> from false to true but the issue is there is not gonna be any enviromental lighting in the front theres is only  gonna be in the back its an issue with ELS itself unfortunally

do you know what would it would be for a non slicktop 

 

can you make a els police car and add working ruuning lights like cops when they show up to a scean they turn off all lights except the orange lights just to add a bit more realistic game paly

@panoszaf With all due respect, I love this car, but if I were you I would adjust the angle that the animation stops the visor at, so that it is straight up and down, instead of against the windscreen. If you do, the light will shine in front of the car!

Good work. Now, if you wouldn't mind, the ENV lighting could use an adjustment in the VCF files (R/B and B/B). The ENV lighting in the front (visor and grille) is still projecting onto the sky, so the coordinates will need to be adjusted to where they'd be for a normal unmarked car. Please and thank you.

You did it again!! Looks awesome.  Wheels aren't my style but that's not your concern.  You made the car in your image and it's sick!  The vison light idea is on point.  Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but every time I see you commenting on a post, it's always just complaining about something and asking for something that wasn't original to the car. Case in point, asking for side runners. It's not as easy as you may think. If you want these things on a car, just go ahead and make it yourself. The man created a unique car that probably won't be replicated for a long time, and did a pretty good job of it. Try and think about that next time you comment on a car.

I can't wait to see what panoszaf and other modders do with this in the future. Sure today it's a challenger but what tomorrow? Very nicely done @panoszaf. I'll do a featured patrol with it.

go at the ELS.ini and and change the value on this line

you will have to look at the ELS documentation more specifically ELS default controls to what number goes to what buttons but i am not sure if you can change the Alt button i think you can change only the [ button you still might have to click Alt and then whatever button you assign it (i.e Alt+X)

I really enjoy the vehicle, however I would recommend a non-els version of it. I myself have drifted away from LSPDFR and have permanently moved to FiveM. And I would love to see this vehicle apart of my fleet ha!

its not side runners do you drive if so not to be rude but how did you pass your test. side runners do not go in the front of the car ik what side runners are if i wnated that i would say hey man can you make a car with side runner lights did i say that no. i said running lights orange running light

What does me having my license have to do with you complaining about anything in every post I see you on? I'm pointing out you being needy and greedy. The man made a car and released it. It doesn't need to be what people want, it's what he wants. Get over it, and if you don't like it then move on. FYI, "Running lights" is a relative term. Saying running lights means nothing. The term you are searching for is Fog Lights. Hence the need for them to be on during low visibility conditions, usually fog. Hence the name. Please educate yourself before spouting off as if you know best. If you did know best, you'd have fixed your grammar by now.

@panoszaf Just a correction to my comment before about altering the VCF file, you actually don't need to. It's the same as the default VCF, so I think in order to fix the lighting flashing into the sky instead of onto the objects in front of the car, you'll need to rotate the light dummies in zmod, so that they face the same angle as the lights themselves, that being straight ahead instead of at the original angle of the windscreen.

Dummies dont affect enviromental lighting in ELS. ELS creates env lighting regardless of dummy position, if extra_1 is being used by ELS it creates env lighting on the left side of the car regardless on if  the light or dummy  is in the back front or anywhere in the car extra 2 will do the same but on the right side of the car and so on. I honestly dont think theres is anything i can do to change that its just how ELS works.Tthe best thing you can do is change vehicle to to slicktop to true  so only the back env lighting works and it disables extra 1 and 2 from creating env on the sides

To add to what Panoszaf said, if it was non-ELS, the visor would always be down due to the fact that it's ELS that allows it to go up and down.  You would just have another regular unmarked Challenger.  I don't mean this towards you, nor is it intended to be rude, but I've noticed people seem to forget that this site is catered towards LCPDFR/LSPDFR, so most of the cars that are uploaded here have these mods, including ELS, in mind.  fivem is its own mod, with its own community and own downloads section.
