About This File

Basically, "Stop The Ped" is a plugin which contains replacement for the same functionality in vanilla LSPDFR.
But, there's a very annoying bug which sometimes prevents you to stop the ped by holding the "E" key.
This plugin provides almost the same functionality which allows you to stop the peds. 

There's also an additional stop at gunpoint feature which have softer arrest gesture (kneel down instead of kissing the ground on vanilla LSPDFR).
Also available are the additional features to pat down the suspect and provide gun permit, also tons of other features.

 

PREREQUISITES:

  1. Rage Plugin Hook v0.57 alpha
  2. LSPD First Response v0.31 by G17
  3. Traffic Policer v6.13.7.0 by Albo1125 (required to observe the peds for alcohol/narcotics)
  4. Police SmartRadio v1.1.1.1 by Albo1125 (required to request prisoner trasport, tow, coroner, and insurance services)
  5. VocalDispatch v1.6.0 by turbofandude (optional if you want voice command to call prisoner transport, tow, coroner, and insurance services)
  6. On Scene Backup v1.0.0 by BejoIjo

!! Important Notes !! "Stop The Ped" v4.0.0.0 or above does not require "Arrest Manager" as prerequisite plugin any more.

 

 

INSTALLATION:

  • Copy the contents of "Plugins\LSPDFR" (including subfolders) in this package to: "GTA V directory\plugins\LSPDFR"
  • If you haven't had "RageNativeUI.dll" in your "main GTA V folder", don't forget to copy the file from this package
  • Please open and edit "StopThePed.ini" file, if you want to replace the keyboard key or controller button bindings

 

 

HOW TO USE:

  • To stop the nearest ped:
    •   When using keyboard, you just need to DOUBLE PRESS the "E" key
    •   When using controller, DOUBLE TAP the "DRightPad" controller button
  • Come closer to the stopped ped and press "E" or "DRightPad" to bring up "Stop The Ped" menu.
  • You may close the menu at anytime by pressing "Backspace" or "Esc" key on keyboard, and "B" button on the controller
  • And you may bring back the menu (when in range) using "E" key or "DPadRight" button
  • To perform stop at gunpoint, just aim the ped with your gun when performing ped stop (aiming while double press "E" key or "DRightPad")
  • To target a ped as pursuit suspect, just aim the ped with your gun and press "T" key
  • To perform "Quick Grab" on any peds, press "LControl + T" key or "DPadLeft + B" button

 

FEATURES:

  • Stop the ped:
    • Stop the nearest ped peacefully. (only one ped at a time)
    • Stop the ped at gunpoint. (while aiming your weapon at the ped)
  • You may stop the next nearest ped by doing the same command
  • Using menu, you may choose:
    • Ask ped's ID card to see the ID and any gun permit when the ped has it
    • Issue warning to the ped which will dismiss him/her
    • Follow Me command to make the stopped ped following you
    • Take the ped from behind (grab). You can also perform "Quick Grab" on any peds using "LControl + T" key or "DPadLeft + B" button
    • Pat Down the ped to search for any illegal items
    • Conduct Breathalyzer test
    • Conduct Drug swab test
    • Arrest the ped
    • Release the arrested ped.
    • Ask ped to kneel down or get up
    • Request nearby Police Buddy (from OSB or TSB) to watch the ped
    • Request escort vehicle for the ped (Taxi, Uber,  Ambulance, or Prisoner Transport)
  • The stopped ped will have a yellow blip with "human" icon
  • The arrested ped will have the red blip
  • Stop the ped on the vehicle. The ped will comply as long as the vehicle is not moving
  • The ped may flee if we attempt to arrest them. You may set the probability in the .ini file
  • Notify the player when the ped is intoxicated (alcohol or narcotics)
  • When you walk close to any police car, the arrested ped who is following you or the one being grabbed, might be put into the vehicle using menu
  • You may ask the arrested ped to get out of the car using "E" key
  • This plugin will also injects "Stop The Ped" menu into all peds who are arrested using LSPDFR vanilla gunpoint stop or ped stop (configurable in the .ini file)
    • The peds arrested by your police buddies will also be affected  
    • With this feature, you can perform all "Stop The Ped" actions such as "Pat Down Ped" on all arrested peds. Enjoy!
    • While using "Injects Stop The ped menu" above, please make sure to wait for a few seconds after the arrest to allow this plugin processing the ped
  • Compatible with Computer+. When you give the citation (using Computer+ shortcut key) to stopped ped, they will be dismissed automatically
  • Player may ask Police Buddy from "On Scene Backup" to pat down, perform tests, or arrest the suspect (requires "On Scene Backup" plugin).  Just make sure there's a police buddy watching for the stopped ped, and then select "By My Buddy" on the left/right selector.
  • Using PoliceSmartRadio or VocalDispatch, you can call the following services:
    • Prisoner Transport
    • Tow service
    • Coroner service
    • Insurance service
  • You can also self transport a suspect to nearest jail. When you choose to escort suspect by yourself to cell,  your partner will automatically lock the cell door for you after you deliver the suspect. (after you get out of the cell)
  • Make realistic ped age based on the model. You will no longer see a 63 years old chick (when checking her ID 🙂 . (If you install STP, you won't need "Proper Ped Age" anymore)
  • Context Menu. When you approach and stand next to any Ped or vehicle, you may open this menu by pressing "G" key or controller button "DPadLeft + A". With this menu, you can:
    • Stop the ped, which will make the ped stopped and bring the main stop the ped menu
    • Ask the ped to go. This is needed if the peds are hanging out and you need to disperse them.
    • Drag the ped body (if the ped is injured or dead and laying on the ground)
    • Call Coroner (for dead ped)
    • Call Tow service for abandoned vehicle
    • Call Insurance Service for damaged vehicle

 

 

PAT DOWN THE PED:

  • The items list and probabilities are configurable in the .ini file.
  • It is also compatible with these third party search plugin:
    • Search Warrant by @Darkmyre
    • Police Search by @FtDLulz
  • When you previously searched the ped using above plugins, STP pat down will also return the same result.
  • But if the ped hasn't been searched by any of those plugins, STP will randomize the search result by picking from configured items in the .ini file (or from those third party plugins item files)
  • If you are a callout developer who want to inject some items into the ped, you may use those third party search plugins API to do it.  "Stop The Ped" will automatically recognize and display the items.

 

 

API FOR CALLOUTS DEVELOPERS:
A. Pat Down items

  • You may inject items into "Ped.Metadata.searchPed" variable (similar with "Search Warrant" plugin)
  • Example: myPed.Metadata.searchPed = "~r~handgun~s~, ~y~pocket knife~s~, and ~g~wallet~s~";
  • Please notice that the ~r~, ~y~, and ~g~ are for text color of red, yellow, and green. Whether ~s~ is for text default color.

 

B. Gun permit

  • There are 3 metadata variables you could inject:
    • Ped.Metadata.hasGunPermit -> it's a boolean typed variable (true/false) to determine whether the ped has gun permit or not
    • Ped.Metadata.gunLicense -> it's a string typed variable. You're free to put any string there. Assigned values by this plugin: "Handguns", "Long guns", "Handguns and Long guns"
    • Ped.Metadata.gunPermit -> it's also a string typed variable. You're free to put any string there. Assigned values by this plugin: "Concealed" and "Public"

  • Major revamped on codes and algorithm for taking over arrested suspect (by AI or player) by implementing "soft ped reset".  With the new "soft ped reset" method, callouts can still interact with suspect (e.g. callout questioning/speaking) after they got arrested and taken over by STP.  In the previous version, the callout can not interact with the ped anymore after they got arrested.
  • Increased the radius of suspect arrested by Police AI that can be taken over by STP. With this improvement, the suspect that's far away from you will still be arrested and taken over by STP
  • Increased the dismissal distance on stopped ped or arrested ped. This will give you more spaces when performing pursuit with multiple suspects
  • There will be no more police unit that come and go after the Police AI arrested the suspect. It's automatically cancelled by STP

Does anybody else have the issue of not being able to access the menu? After a while of using the mod working fine it will just stop and i wont be able to do anything. It gives me the prompt saying press e to access the menu but when i press E it doesnt do anything. Does anyone have a solution?

That use to be a mod pretty much similar, would be nice to have it implement with on scene backup. 

 

It's possible and more suitable to add that feature on STP, I guess.

Most probably it was failed to load because there are some corrupted items.

If you edit search items previously from STP, search warrant, or police search, make sure the XML format is correct.

For quick fix, you can reset it by overwriting the xml files with the original ones

With the latest version of RPH, STP doesn't seem to function correctly most of the time. If I arrest the ped with STP takedown function, I can't interact with them once they surrender and if I arrest the ped with the vanilla LSPDFR takedown function, I can't use the STP menu when they're in custody.

I'm using a clean install of STP since I completely reinstalled GTA a few weeks back however this issue is only present when using the newest RPH (0.63) which is quite strange. I've posted my RPH log below.

I just upgraded to GTA patch 1493.1 and when using RPH 0.63, I can stop/arrest the ped (using vanilla gunpoint arrest) and get the STP menu fine.

I suspect you might have a conflict with other plugins. To test it, install only STP and arrest manager and see if it works.

 

Please also try to clean reinstall arrest manager.

Having a problem every now and then. When arresting the ped with your menu, LSPDFR will crash (sometimes it will work). It seems to be conflicting with LSPDFR vanilla feature (holding E to stop the ped).

 

When I remove your plugin it's all smooth sailing but I can't bring myself to not use it. Your menu is just too damn convenient for us controller users lol.

 

EDIT: Seems to be Arrest Manager conflicting judging my a recent crash in the log. I'll try a clean install of Arrest Manager and STP, hopefully that may fix any issues.

yeah.. most probably there's a conflict on Arrest Manager. Make sure to clean re-install and clean up the Arrest Manager folder.

Is this plugin meant to 'kill' the ped when arrested at gunpoint? I get the white x as if the ped has been killed (but obviously they haven't). This can be a little annoying because some callouts say the ped has been killed, when I've only arrested at gunpoint.

Found a funky bug, but I'm not sure if it's the fault of Albo's Traffic Policer plugin or this, but if you place down any cone/barrier from the road management menu and double tap E while next to the barrier, out pops a random ped (that for some reason is ALWAYS high or drunk).

 

You can interact with them normally and they'll just walk off if you give them a warning, like they weren't aware that they were a sign a few seconds before. I didn't encounter this bug with the default arrest/ped stop that came bundled with Albo's Arrest Manager and LSPDFR's.

 

 

Maybe your plugin just sees beyond the veil of signage and sees that non sentient objects no longer exist, as they all have little people inside.

Last I checked you could also drug test/search barriers placed by traffic policer lol... Probably a hidden scripted entity that somehow gets exposed by being stopped by STP.

 

I am starting to get a problem that I haven't had before, when grabbing a suspect with STP menu, I can no longer control my character and he starts walking and sliding around randomly. When using Arrest Manager to grab the ped I do not have this problem... The only two mods that aren't visual I have added since the update is a .asi blinker mod and NoMoreFeathering (I have had this mod before and it worked fine with STP with no problems). Any idea on the cause?

Yes, Traffic policer attach an invisible ped to each cones and barriers.. lol.. 🙂

I've fixed STP to only stop the visible ped in the next release.

That's a rare glitch. Usually it happens when you stopped a drunk driver and the driver tries to go back and enter the car.

The drunk driver peds spawned by traffic policer ambient are still controlled by traffic police plugin and may assign a task to the ped which conflict with STP grab ped.

I'll try to find the solution for this.

Love the new update with the implementations of most Arrest Manager features to make life easier, however things like British Policing Script and (I believe) Traffic Policer require that AM be installed for them to work. Is there any way around this? I'd much rather have one plugin (STP) doing these things rather than two, one of them not even being used. Thanks.

Traffic Policer shouldn't have a requirement for AM.

Hi, you can still use AM and disable the additional features in STP (prisoner transport, jail drop off, coroner, tow, and insurance services) within the .ini file.

That was one of the purpuse  of this update, I gain 10fps as well testing it, I think a lot more features are coming with this, that will make our experience even more immersive and less complicated. Having everything include in one mod is far less demanding and result in less crash and bugs as well.

I love the update and not needing arrest manager, but could you please make an option to disable the lights and siren of the transport vehicle once they picked up the suspect(s)? It causes so much chaos with the AI when trying to leave a scene. Other than that, I'm loving it!
