Some anti-virus software flag ELS as unsafe. We have independently verified there is nothing unsafe in ELS. You do not need to create a thread about it, instead, you should whitelist the folder or disable anti-virus software.

About This File

Emergency Lighting System V brings one of the most popular modifications ever created for a GTA title (ELS-IV) to Grand Theft Auto V. ELS-V will add a whole new dimension to  your patrols. With a fresh look and many more features than its predecessor, it's also sure to brighten up your game and satisfy the emergency lighting enthusiast in anyone.

DESCRIPTION
− ELS provides an alternate and incredibly in-depth way of controlling emergency vehicle lights and sounds.
− ELS requires vehicle models specifically designed to make use of its features.
− ELS includes over 200 unique lighting patterns scattered across 4 light groups and lighting formats.

NOTES
Please consult the ELS USER GUIDE and other provided documentation prior to using ELS.

− As of V1.00 ELS is not compatible with any form of multiplayer.
− A visual enhancement mod is recommended to improve the appearance of ELS lights in game.

BASIC INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.

− 1. Place ELS.asi, ELS.ini, the ELS folder, and  AdvancedHookV.dll inside your main GTA V game directory.
− 2. Download and install (a) pro-ELS vehicle model(s).
− 3. Start your game.

CREDITS
− ELS is coded by Lt.Caine.

− AdvancedHookV and vehicle damage feature coded by LMS.
− ELS-V testing team (alphabetical order): Albo1125, BxBugs123, GravelRoadCop, PoliceWag, and Prophet.

I like most of what this mod does however I have several problems with it.

1) It clutters up an already cluttered controller with no option to change or remove controller buttons. When I'm using the controller and scrolling through things like backup menus, it turns off the lights and siren. It just takes up too many buttons on the controller. Just add the ability to remove contoller use or at least reassign controller buttons.

2) It tries to do too many things at once like both siren and light controls. It only needs to handle lights, let Albo's siren mastery handle the sirens. It's far easier to configure Siren Mastery's sirens than it is to do in ELS. It's just a lot more work to add sirens and makes it a pain to switch between using els and non-els vehicles.

3) I tried changing the configuration file so the "R" key no longer controls the manual siren and instead totally remove the manual siren but it changed nothing.

I'd like to see more user control and customization in the areas of siren control, controller functionality, and compatibility with siren mastery.

KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid

 It'll just make things easier.

That being said I do absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the light controls! Good work!

This mod is definitely a must have. One thing is missing tho, and that is a proper TA function for the secondary lights like there was in the earlier versions of ELS-IV.

[EDIT: nvm, there is a TA function deeply buried away]

This mod has brought some realism to LSPDFR.  I'm very well pleased, but did have a couple of questions. The first is, is there any way to change the speed of the wig wags? Second, is there anyway to change or actually be able to use the vehicles components in the trainer? Once again, beautiful mod!!

Thanks!

Thank you so much for this mod, first off how you got the different LED set up was really cool so when i'm pulled off on the side of the road, after  having someone pulled over I can just change it to the back leds etc. keep up the good work

A nice first release of ELS. Pleased to have this kind of control. It's impressive, but there are some issues that need to be addressed:

  • As others have mentioned, the horn-honk-get-out-of-the-way AI is badly broken
  • It would be nice if it would remember the pattern settings you set for each vehicle model. At the very least within 1 session, preferably saved to the VCF file under a section like "LastUserSettings". Make it optional in case people want to be able to start fresh every time.
  • Traffic advisor patterns are buried in the warning light patterns. It would be nice to have a key to quickly switch to the most recently selected arrow pattern. Something like Shift+LeftArrow to switch to the last-used left traffic advisor pattern, Shift+RightArrow for the right, Shift+UpArrow for the most recent center-out TA pattern, and Shift+DownArrow for the most recent warning TA pattern.

Looking forward to future updates!

This is what we have all been waiting for and boy was it worth the wait! It was!

The installation configuration etc. is as smooth as butter! So perfectly done! - I've only had minor problems...

Cant wait for further updates. Especially for some more audiostrings so we can utilize the whole siren library.

I prefer siren mastery. Simple to use and a variety of sirens. With SM i did not need 4 button clicks to go code 3. Plus  side though is the light play which is cool.

As others mentioned, it’s a kind of a game itself. The deepest emergency signaling simulation I’ve seen in the games. Even the default keyboard assignments make sense and easy to remember and operate.
But, there’s a thing I dare to call a downside. If the LSPDFR for you is more about patrolling and simulating the policing, don’t install it yet. First, at the moment (2017-01-01) there’re much more non-ELS models, that are closer to this world counterparts (since R* did some real job on emergency lighting and modelers used it). Also, the ELS uses a ton of keys for controls, and if you have a developed LSPDFR setup, you’ll have do a helluva work remapping and unassigning them just to be able to play LSPDFR without constantly cancelling unwanted actions and closing unwanted menus.
I’d suggest the developers to add the hands-free-like mode that will leave only essential keys enabled — like “change the lighting stage” and “hands-free siren control”, or something like that. In normal patrols you don’t need most of the ELS functions, but you need to be able to quickly go Code-3 or sound a Yelp tone. Also, the key to reset your actions to vehicle’s default config would be useful.
Happy 2017, by the way. As a matter of fact, this review is the first useful thing I did in the new year :teehee:

The only reason I didn't 5 stars is because the controller can't be disabled.

The buttons interfere with other mods. Other than that, top work as always.

This is a very amazing plugin. I would rate it 5/5 if it weren't for two things...

Every time I pull someone over, they just zoom off in a straight line in their vehicle, not caring for what's in front of them. Please, someone help me fix this bug, because this glitch breaks one of the fundamental features of LSPDFR.

Also, the ELS key lock is set to the scroll lock key (with no way to change it in ELS.ini). My scroll lock key is also responsible for turning on and off my keyboard back light, and it's very annoying to have to play LSPDFR without my keyboard back light.
