PALETO BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT PACK 1.0
By Cartres
Based on The Lenox Police Department in Berkshire County, Massachusetts

INTRODUCTION:

About a half-year ago, I began delving into the depths of GTA V vehicle development. While the process was difficult at first, the help of dozens of talented developers in the field allowed me to grow quickly. When I began this trek, my intent was to create a single, massive Massachusetts Megapack, featuring over 40 vehicles. While that pack is still in progress, I decided it would be wise for me to release a pack before going any further, introducing myself to the community and demonstrating my work.

My commitment remains simple: Provide the community with the highest quality vehicles I possibly can, rendered to near 100% accuracy to their real life counterparts. This pack's release has gone through months of laborious testing, and the construction would not have been possible without those listed in the credits of this release.

Please read the credits for a full outline of not only the parts I used, but the people that helped me get here.

OVERVIEW:

Lenox is a town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. Set in Western Massachusetts, it is part of the Pittsfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,025 at the 2010 census. Lenox is the site of Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The Lenox Police Department is a relatively small Police Agency responsible for overall law enforcement duties in the township of Lenox. Since the Berkshire County Sheriff does not have a patrol division (no sheriff departments in Massachusetts have a patrol division), they interface directly with the Massachusetts State Police for all law enforcement matters in and around their jurisdiction.

ELS & Non-ELS Hybrid

It is true that this pack utilizes ELS and Non-ELS to create magnificent and beautiful lighting effects in the environment, as well as to enable more variety with the flash patterns. By default, the Non-ELS lights are set to activate on Light-Stage 2, but this can be modified in the VCFs if you wish. Modifying the metas or names of these vehicles can cause the non-ELS lights to malfunction, leaving most of the lights either dysfunctional or totally inoperable.

THIS PACK INCLUDES:

LPD1: 2014 FPIU with Whelen Liberty I "Opticom".

LPD2: 2016 FPIU with Whelen Liberty II.

LDP3: 2014 FPIS with Whelen Liberty I "Opticom".

LPD4: 2014 FPIU with Whelen Inner Edge XLP (Slicktop marked).

LPD5: 2014 Dodge Charger with Whelen Liberty I "Opticom".

LPD6: 2016 FPIU with Whelen Liberty II "Opticom".

PLANNED UPDATES:

- Tidying up the VCF files.

- Collision Optimization

- Small texture modifications.

KNOWN ISSUES:

- The 2014 Charger's Takedowns face the reverse direction. Still now, I am unaware of a fix for this issue, but will continue to look for one.

Disclaimer:

I am still learning, and I am by no means perfect. I welcome all feedback, bug reports, and issues with the files. Please understand that while I will attempt to help anyone that has difficulties installing these vehicles, I cannot control your PC, and I cannot always promise a fix. I offer no support to those who attempt to modify the files.

FAQs:

Q: How do I activate the takedowns and the spotlights?
A: Spotlights are tied to the highbeams, takedowns are tied to ELS.

Q: Can these be used as REPLACEMENTS instead of ADDONS?

A: Yes, but please read the readme carefully for instructions.

Q: Can you modify this pack to include red and blue lighting?

A: Under no circumstances will I be including a red/blue option for this pack.

Q: What permissions do I have for this pack?
A: You can use it for single-player until your heart is content, but under no circumstances can you use this pack for FiveM.

Q: May I have access to the templates to change the liveries?
A: No. I will not be providing templates with this download. I know this may be a controversial decision, but I believe strongly that these vehicles were made to represent the department they are build after. Modifying the textures would not only do away with the work of DJCave, but also take away from the accuracy of this pack. If you desperately need to change my vehicle's textures, most of the templates are available on this site elsewhere.

PALETO BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT PACK 1.0
By Cartres
Based on The Lenox Police Department in Berkshire County, Massachusetts

THANKS TO:
SoCalThero & Dewey for their patience with instructing me on my first steps in GTA V modeling so many months ago. Without them, I wouldn't have completed my first car.
GeorgieMoon, Carper, Kane104, EVI, Matt-I-P, OfficerFive0, and ISPfan12 for their advanced knowledge and teachings. They are a font of knowledge unlike anything the GTA V community has seen, and we're better for it.
OfficerFive0, again, for his immense generosity with the sheer amount of parts given to me to use.
Turtle, for constructing the community within which I learned so much, surrounded by so many talented developers.

Key:
'Commissioned' denotes that I asked a developer to make a part that previously didn't exist in exchange for real money. Some of these parts are publicly available and can be released if asked for.
'Purchased for use' denotes a real money exchange between myself and other developer for a preexisting part.
'used with permission' denotes a private part that was shared with me by the developer with permission to use on a locked model.
Parts without these tags denote public availability.

Wow. I wasn't expecting this. I saw your Senora Valley Police pack, after seeing the model quality I decided to check out the rest of your work. When I saw this was the only one I decided to download and give it a shot.

Best. Decision. Ever.

Your handling is phenomenal, the lighting is very unique, the interior quality is the best I've seen on the FPIUs. All around I enjoy these vehicles and even though their lights don't match the rest of my game... I'm going to keep them.

Response from the author:

What a kind review! I'm so flattered, thank you so much! I hope you continue to enjoy them!

I really love this pack! It is so amazing as a Paleto pack, I immediately installed it when I came home. Nevertheless, the 14 Charger has backwars facing takedown shine, you'll see when looking closer on it. If it's fixed, ofc it's five stars!

- EDIT FIXED, so it's five stars, love it 😄

Response from the author:

Thanks for your kind words! As you can see in the post, the takedowns have been fixed!

I like 5/5. Thank you for installing in the form of a DLC, this method is very convenient, it is a pity that not all authors use this method.

A beautiful assortment of my all-time favorite Liberty I lightbar. If you have a decent machine to use a ton of add-ons then I highly suggest you utilize this pack for Paleto. The only issue that I know of that I don't believe was addressed (I apologize if I'm mistaken) is the "strobe_-_Copy" textures (the modules in the center of the front) don't light up. Again if I'm mistaken I apologize. I am in love with this pack though 🙂

Response from the author:

Thank you so much for your review! Your point about the strobe in the center of the bar is well taken, but you are mistaken. Those strobes are actually opticom strobes, which flash infrared lights at traffic lights to make them change from red to green for the responding vehicle. They don't produce any light.

Here's an example of them being utilized by Snohomish County Sheriff on their Liberty I and Liberty II bars. As you can see, they don't flash on either variants (the camera is picking up the IR strobing effect, which isn't visible to the human eye. It's fairly obvious that it isn't the same as the other flashing lights).

I'm glad you enjoy the pack, and hopefully this tidbit of information will help you to enjoy it even more!
