SimpleCTRL is a plugin for controlling various vehicle functions such as indicators, engine control, and other features.

Requirements

 

To install this plugin, the .dll file must be placed in a "plugins" folder.
This folder can be reached by going to the Grand Theft Auto V directory and placing the .dll file in the "plugins" folder.
If this plugins folder does not exist, then you can simply create it.

 

Drive where GTA V is installed → Programs (x86) / SteamLibrary → Steam → steamapps → common → Grand Theft Auto V → plugins

    I have an issue with running SimpleCTRL and the Seatbelts plugin simultaneously. It turns out that both plugins rely on different versions of the NAudio.dll library. Seatbelts requires version 2.2.1.0, while SimpleCTRL is looking for version 1.10.0.0.

    Due to this version discrepancy, I can't have both plugins active at the same time. Is there a possibility to update SimpleCTRL to be compatible with the newer version of NAudio.dll, or do you have any other suggestions on how I can resolve this issue?

    This plugin is GREAT! But there is somethings that need work. This plugin replaces the need for many other standalone plugins. But some features that I'd like to see include.

     

    • An In-Game Menu to enable or disable fuel mod, or engine features on the fly.
    • editable screen elements and removable screen elements in an Ini or menu. (for example instead of on top the minimap on top the screen)
    • Compatibility with Faya's seatbelt mod. (It might just be a me thing but when I have seatbelt installed I'm trapped in the car)

          

           I know these things take along time but they would be great features. Of course you don't HAVE to do anything its your plugin after all 🤣

            but great job this plugin is amazing! Awesome Job Venoxity! 😀

    Downloaded nearly a week ago and now I see this as essential, I used to have to download a mod for a speedometer in mph and another mod for the working fuel scripts

    this packs all of that into one and actually works really well. Its quick and easy to setup and provides a range of other cool features.

     

    Top tier mod and a must have

    It's great!! But I can't turn off the engine while inside of the car.
    What can I do to fix this?

    This removed the need for 3 separate scripts/plugins I had installed and offers a much wider range of immersion. As of writing this, I have not had an issue that has not already been addressed (Ex Cruise Control before the temporary removal) so I won't go on plastering about issues that are already being addressed. Otherwise, this has a significant amount of potential. Veno seems to always be quick to resolve issues and implementing community feedback.

    So, I had a lot of hope for this plugin; its a very neat concept, however there are issues that need to be addressed
     

    1. Cruise control heavily impacts performance and spams the RageLog while active.
    2. No modifier keys in the INI File
    3. Engine control seems to be somewhat un-reliable; may just be user error however

     

    Now, there are ways to fix most of the issues I listed here.
    For issue #1: To negate log spam it may be good to add a logging statement before and after the code for Cruise Control is executed; I am unsure of the actual Performance impact issue

     

    For issue #2: Modifier keys are fairly easy to add and Implement, the BasicAnimations repository on GitHub has a method that works flawlessly for modifier keys.

     

    For issue #3: A possible fix could be to raise the threshold of speed in which you can Disable your engine to say 5-10mph

     

    Personally I feel if these issues are addressed and fixed the plugin could be amazing.

     

    EDIT: Developer seems to have fixed the listed issues and them added some more features. Lots of potential 👍

    First off, I appreciate all the feedback in this message. it really helps me improve the mod and such. I hope to see this bumped in the future.

    For issue 1, I will have a look at all that. I am currently aware of the performance issue with cruise control. I have yet to test it myself tho. The logging spamming I wasnt aware of. so I will check that out.

    For issue 2, I already have a method available to me inside my common client I have made. I have plans to already make a modifier key.  it will most likey be included in the next update. 

    For issue 3, I will also have a look at this as I personally experienced some issues with engine myself. I think I may know the issue. 

    Thank you for all of this. I hope to see you to keep using the mod.

    Its good, but needs more features that make the stuff like fluids matter. Also it DEFINETLY needs custom controls because for most people who dont change their ELS controls, like me, the cruise control is linked to the lightstage button. I am not changing my ELS config for like 5 different plugins and peripherals because this plugin dosent have a config. Otherwise its nice. Has some good features. Works well in tandem with simpleHUD. Just needs more work and customization before it deserves anything more than 2 stars cause of all the button conflicts that arent fixable.

    Addition of the Config quickly bumped the rating. Keybinds are the biggest pet peeve of me and I know a lot of others in the community, having the ability to change keybinds is a huge plus.
