Police Menu
Welcome to Police Menu! A modern and quick access HUD to enhace your gameplay!
Are you tired of jumping through several menus, bashing your arrow keys to find that one setting you want to change? Are you a fan of realistic looking Police Computers and want to switch from the GTA5 looking menus? This mod will help you achieve this.
Police Menu offers quick access to a handful of every-shift use utilities. You can quick-equip gloves when you have to jump in and stop a fight, open the Police Computer and check out your current call for additional information, write parking tickets for vehicles and many more!
Showcase:
Keybinds:
Every key used by this pack can be changed in the PoliceMenu.ini settings.
By default the following keys are used:
- DialogKey=Y
- InteractionKey=X
- MenuKey=N
- ModifierMenuKey=ControlKey
By default the Interactive Menu is opened by pressing N + Control at the same time.
Set ModifierMenuKey to "None" if you want to open it without pressing two keys at the same time.
Controller Keybinds:
NOTICE: By default, LSPDFR binds the "A" key to performing and cancelling traffic stops. It is advised to change this keybing inside LSPDFR to avoid cancelling the traffic stop when using the Police Computer.
- Open Menu: RB + DPAD Down
- Interaction key: DPAD Right
- Accept key: A (unchangeable)
- Cancel key: B
- Scrolling key: DPAD up/down (unchangeable)
- Vehicle Menu key: RB + DPAD Left
- Vehicle Zoom Key: Pressing Right Stick (unchangeable)
- Default sensitivity: 0.75
Installation:
-
Copy the plugins folder into your main Grand Theft Auto directory (ex: .../steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto V/)
If installed correctly it should look like this: Grand Theft Auto V/plugins/LSPDFR/PoliceMenu.dll
-
Copy all files from the OPENIV folder into Open IV in the following path:
mods -> update -> update.rpf -> x64 -> data -> cdimages -> scaleform_generic.rpf -
That's it
Have fun playing!
Menus:
The ingame menu offers a modern HUD with the following options available:
- Open Police Computer
- ->Callout Details
- ->Ped Database
- ->Ped Information
- ->Ped History
- ->Write Ped Citation
- ->Write Arrest Report
- -> Vehicle Database
- -> Vehicle Information
- -> Notepad
- Place Speedcamera
- Perform Drug Swab test
- Perform Breathalyzer test
- Write Parking Ticket
- Take Pictures
- Equip/unequip Sunglasses
- Equip/unequip Hat
- Equip/unequip Gloves
- Equip/unequip Vest
- Equip/unequip Mask
Court System:
Both Citations and Arrest Reports will sooner or later go to the San Andreas Court. You'll receive a phonecall when a case is available at court (unless disabled in the .ini). Here you'll be able to follow the proceedings and watch the outcome your citation / arrest has. This is purely optional and will not impact your gameplay in any way.
How to Fix Crash when using Ped Database:
If you are experiencing crashes when using the Ped Database search, continue with the following steps:
(If you don't have the option listed below, go on duty once for the .ini to update!)
1. Open your PoliceMenu.ini file inside your /plugins/LSPDFR/ folder.
2. Change "FixGameMemoryError" from false to true.
That's it! You can now experience the plugin crashfree
How to Fix Issues with Ultra Widescreen monitors:
For some reasons, if playing on an ultrawide monitor, the menu (especially the computer) will be locked at 4:3 ratio with certain buttons being cut off.
To fix this head to this site and follow the instructions. This should resolve any issues with ultrawide:
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1876-grand-theft-auto-v-fov-ultrawide-new-fws-script/
How to add custom charges:
Once you go On Duty with the newest version installed, the Mod will automatically create two new files located here:
"Grand Theft Auto V\plugins\LSPDFR\PoliceMenu\Internal\CitationItems.xml" and
"Grand Theft Auto V\plugins\LSPDFR\PoliceMenu\Internal\ChargeItems.xml"
I've included a handful of charges. These are pretty basic but should cover most of the infractions you'll find during your patrol. You can add your own charges and they will automatically load up when you start writing a citation or an arrest report (Loading the new Charges requires you to restart the mod!).
If you want to implement your own charges, make sure you stay true to the layout like the rest of the charges, otherwise the mod will not be able to load them.

What's New in Version 1.3.8
Released
Update Installation 1.3.8
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.3.7, replace PoliceMenu.dll
New:
Roadblock
- The roadblock can now be dismissed by requesting it over the radio
If a roadblock is already active you could only dismiss it by talking to the officer on sight or leaving the area for a few hundred meters. This was a bit of a hassle when you finished cleaning the scene and still had to talk to the ped to dismiss the roadblock. This has been changed, so you nw can click on the roadblock button again on the menu to dismiss it anywhere.
Coroner
- Coroner now will mark the position of the body before bagging the corpse
When the coroner arrives, he will now create and leave an outline of the dead body. This outline will remain on the ground, leaving bystanders wondering what cruel crime must've occured in this area.
Bugfixes:
PC Menu - Citation
- Fixed bug that would reset the chosen background when searching for a charge.
PC Menu - Arrest Report
- Fixed bug that would reset the chosen background when searching for a charge.
Personal Words:
I created this mod since I hated how many keybinds are used by default, several mods etc. It was much easier for me to just pop open a menu and clicking a button instead of remembering what each key on the keyboard does, sometimes even multiple plugins using the same binds, leading to conflicts. What started from having just 5 buttons for simple things such as equipping gloves, turned into the biggest project I have thus made and the +100.000 downloads proof that I must have done atleast something right.
I'm currently working on a new mod so atleast for the forseeable futures, updates for Police Menu will reduce. However this project is always on my mind so I won't discontinue it, just put it on ice for now while I focus on my new project.
Thanks for the continous support and feedback you guys give me

Previous Changelog:
Update Installation 1.3.7
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.3.6, replace PoliceMenu.dll, police_menu.gfx, police_menu.ytd and both police_menu_vehicle files.
New:
Menu Translation
- Added translation file to PoliceMenu/Internal/translations.ini
The Main popup and Computer menu can now be translated into any language. Charges and Citations can also be translated in their own files. However Notifications and Subtitles aren't translatable just yet. This will come in a later update. As usual, the new .ini file will be automatically created once you go on duty with the newest update.
Roadblock
- Added option to choose which props spawns as roadblock
Inside the PoliceMenu.ini file, you can now overwrite the object that spawns as roadblock if you don't like the standard police barrier. As usual, the new .ini file will be automatically created once you go on duty with the newest update.
Bugfixes:
Roadblock
- Fixed crash when the object isn't able to spawn. Instead, you will now be informed that the road cannot be blocked.
- Fixed endless blackscreen caused by the above crash.
- Fixed Roadblock Ped skin. Instead of a random ped, it will now properly display as a cop if Ultimate Backup isn't installed.
Changes:
Blood Test
- If Ultimate Backup is installed, the Ambulance and the Ped will now spawn the UB version instead of the standard ambulance and medic ped.
Police Computer
- Adjusted some buttons and texts for a better layout.
Update Installation 1.3.6
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.3.5, replace PoliceMenu.dll and police_menu.gfx and police_menu.ytd
New:
Equipment Menu
- Added button to request closure of the road the player is currently on.
Road Closure will block off a section in which the player is currenty located, both ends marked by police barriers. Traffic will stop in front of the barriers and won't go ham or try to push through the closed section. In addition, any uninvolved bystander vehicles are removed. This is extremly helpful when dealing with the aftermath of a chase or a traffic accident. When you are done you can either just leave the scene or talked to the marked officer to open the road again.
- Added categories for citations
Calls a coroner unit to deal with any dead bodies in the vicinity of the player. I'm planning on adding a new deathreport option for the Computer and changes to the Courtsystem so it doesn't feel so random when charges are being prosecuted or dropped. For this to properly work I needed to create a custom coronerfunction. This is just one step in a few more to come.
Changes:
Overall
- Removed some uneccesary notifications at startup. You will no longer be thanked for downloading or informed that you are on the current version. Instead you'll only get a notification should you be running an outdated version. This should help with the popup spam whenever you go onduty the first time.
Update Installation 1.3.5
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.3.4, replace PoliceMenu.dll and all OpenIV files
New:
PC Menu - Arrest Report
- Added categories for charges
-> Instead of having all your charges listed straight away, they will now be properly listed in a category, if one was setup for them. The searchbar can still be used to search for specific charges. If a charge doesn't have a category setup inside the "ChargesItems.xml", they will automatically be assigned into the "Unsorted" category.
PC Menu - Citation
- Added categories for citations
-> Instead of having all your citations listed straight away, they will now be properly listed in a category, if one was setup for them. The searchbar can still be used to search for specific citations. If a citation doesn't have a category setup inside the "CitationItems.xml", they will automatically be assigned into the "Unsorted" category.
Charges & Citations
- Added plenty more vanilla charges and citations and added them to proper categories. If you are using unmodified versions of "CitationItems.xml" and "ChargesItems.xml", it is advised to delete them so that the game can create the newly updated ones.
Changes:
Outfit Selection
- You will now change into the selected clothing at the start of the dressup animation rather than at the end of it.
Bugfixes:
- Fixed rare crash caused by a prop not spawning when opening the Computer on foot
Update Installation 1.3.4
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.3.3, replace PoliceMenu.dll and all OpenIV files
New:
PC Menu - Ped Information
- Added new "Request Blood Test" option, which will call a doctor to perform a blood test on that ped.
Drug Swab/Breathalyzer test
- Added chance that a ped will refuse to take a breathalyzer / drugswab test for both STP and Police Menu. You can either arrest the ped or call a doctor for a blood test.
- Added optional (enabled by default) sync between STP and Police Menu's drug swab test.
Bugfixes:
- Tweaked Speedcamera so it aims a bit lower to properly track vehicles.
- Fixed crash caused by not having installed the OpenIV files and trying to open the menu. It will now display an errormessage instead.
- Fixed bug that would sometimes not properly create a ped's history.

IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.3.2, replace PoliceMenu.dll and all OpenIV files
New:
Clothing Menu
- Added new Wardrobe option
Settings
- Added new "SyncSTPBreathalyzer" option. This will sync the PoliceMenu and STP breathalyzer so it always displays the same value. The limits and units are taken from the STP.ini file.
Wardrobe:
The wardrobe is a new option which will allow the player to quickly swap between outfits, save outfits to a list or deleting them.
How to save an outfit
- Create your outfit using a trainer or EUPMenu.
- Make sure to also select a mask, glasses, a hat and a bulletproof vest (even if you don't intend to use them). These will be saved to their respective button inside Police Menu and only appear, if you click on them separately. If you want to use gloves with your outfit,
- Go into the wardrobe menu and click "Copy Outfit". You will then be ask to give your outfit a name
- If you wish to use gloves with your outfit, you will now be asked for the Model and Texture ID, if you dont want to use them, just enter 0

- Click on the "Delete Outfit" button
- Click on the Outfit you wish to delete
- If you want to cancel, just press the Delete button again

New:
Equipment Menu
- Added new camera button which will allow you to take pictures (RP purpose only)
Bugfixes:
Included two previous fixes that got lost in between an update. Those being:
- Speedcamera will now only spawn when outside of an vehicle
- Ped AlcoholLevel will now properly display a value instead of 0.00 everytime (STP sync not yet re-enabled)
Update Installation 1.3.0
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.2.9, replace PoliceMenu.dll, police_menu.gfx and police_menu.ytd
Spawn Computer in Vehicle
Spawning a computer inside a vehicle is now handled via a button from the Main Menu (Vehicle button near the "Open Computer" button). This should improve performance slightly, but more importantly it's a nice middleground if you want to use a computer inside certain vehicles, but not in everyone.
Changes:
Main Menu:
- Added "Spawn Computer inside Vehicle" button
Stop The Ped:
- Removed sync between PoliceMenu and STP breathalyzer until I can rework it to include all Alcohol Level units
.ini settings:
- Removed "SpawnComputerInsideVehicle" option since it is obsolete
Update Installation 1.2.9
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.2.8, replace PoliceMenu.dll
Controller Support:
Added full controller support to the entire plugin, including any interactions inside the Computer. The controls can mostly be manually changed inside the .ini file by changing the control ID corresponding to the buttons. You can find all control ID's here. The default controls are:
NOTICE: By default, LSPDFR binds the "A" key to performing and cancelling traffic stops. It is advised to change this keybing inside LSPDFR to avoid cancelling the traffic stop when using the Police Computer.
- Open Menu: RB + DPAD Down

- Accept key: A (unchangeable)
- Cancel key: B
- Scrolling key: DPAD up/down (unchangeable)
- Vehicle Menu key: RB + DPAD Left
- Vehicle Zoom Key: Pressing Right Stick (unchangeable)
- Default sensitivity: 0.75

- All help texts will now either display their keyboard or controller binds based on whatever input you use
Bugfixes:
- Speedcamera can now only be equipped when on foot.
- Fixed bug that would cause the breathalyzer to always display "0.00" despite the Ped being drunk.
Update Installation 1.2.8
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.2.7, replace PoliceMenu.dll and all the OpenIV files!
Clothing:
- You will no longer be required to enter your original skin ID's. The game will set them to whatever you wore when you equipped Gloves/Clothing.
- Changed the standard high velo vest and jacket ID's to properly fit the option. (This only affects new installs. If you already changed your ID's they will remain the same)
Bugfixes:
- High Velo Vest is now properly set as an vest and not as a shirt
- Jacket will no longer remove your arms. Note:
- -> Due to the way GTA and LSPDFR works, it's advised to use a closed jacket. (Jackets require an undershirt, otherwise the torso will be invisible. However, a majority of EUP options change the undershirt to belts, badges etc.)

Police Computer - Ped Information:
- Added new Ped Images to "police_menubackgrounds".
- -> If "FixGameMemoryError" is enabled in the .ini file, the Game will now attempt to load a more inaccurate version of the Ped Image.
- -> If no Picture is found for that ped, it will display a Rainbow Image instead (this is not a bug, but the way GTA handles missing textures)
Improvements:
- Ped Pictures are now unloaded from Memory once the entire page has loaded. This might help slower PC's with crashing their PC from Game Memory Error.
Update Installation 1.2.3:
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.2.2, replace PoliceMenu.dll and the OpenIV files!
Police Computer - Vehicle Information:
- Added new Flags Textbox for later use.

- The HDComputer now is included in the Main Download instead of a separate file
Bugfixes:

Update Installation: 1.2.1
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.2.0, replace PoliceMenu.dll, else install all files!
Improvements and Bugfixes:
- Laptop can now be rendered at a much higher resolution when installing the HDComputer and setting .ini "UsingHDComputer" to true.

Bugfixes:
- Fixed crash when going on / off duty without entering a vehicle first
Update Installation 1.2.0:
IMPORTANT: If you are updating from 1.1.9, replace PoliceMenu.dll, else install all files!
Improvements:
- Laptops now properly despawn when the corresponding vehicle doesn't exist anymore (However, it's only triggerend when you enter an new vehicle)
- Added Computer Zoom Key (Default "+"). This will zoom in a bit so it's easier to read the Laptop.
Vehicle MDT:
Every vehicle that is compatible will now be equipped with an actual working MDT inside the vehicle. Practically it works exactly like the normal Police Menu but offers even more Realism and roleplay.
The Position and Rotation of the MDT is customizable when you first enter that vehiclemodel for the first time (ingame) or by editing "LaptopPositions.xml" inside the PoliceMenu/Internal folder.
Pressing ModifierMenuKey and ComputerVehicleKey at the same time (by default Control + P) will switch between driving and MDT controls and vice versa.
While in MDT controls it will allow you to use the in vehicle MDT system, which is also synced with the Computeri inside Police Menu. It is best to use First Person when using the Vehicle MDT.
For this new MDT, I've included two new .ini settings (Start the game once for the .ini to update)
- ComputerVehicleKey (Default: P; Key used alongside ModifierMenuKey to switch between driving and MDT)
- SpawnComputerInVehicle (Default: true; Toggles the Vehicle MDT. If disabled, no MDT's will spawn anymore)
Read before reporting bugs/asking questions:
The MDT is not spawning in even with SpawnComputerInVehicle = true:
-> If you have SpawnComputerInVehicle enabled and no MDT spawns. The vehicle probably doesn't have a "bonnet" bone, which is used to attach the laptop.
My game crashes when entering a vehicle:
-> Make sure you installed both "police_menu_vehicle" OpenIV files or turn SpawnComputerInVehicle = false.
The MDT is small and hard to read:
-> You can either place the Laptop closer to your face or use a camera mod. I'm still trying to figure out if there is a simple way to add a zoom.
I misplaced the laptop, how can I fix it?:
-> Either find the entry inside "PoliceMenu/Internal/LaptopPositions.xml" or delete that file alltogether. The next time you load LSPDFR and go inside that vehicle, you will be asked to place it again.
