Deadly Weapons is a plugin for LSPDFR to add a more dangerous feel to guns. GTA makes people sponges for gameplay, but LSPDFR aims for a more realistic approach.

 

With deadly weapons I increase damage taken by weapons for both the player and AI. Damage varies between limbs and whether the ped is wearing armor or not. It also introduces new auto panic button behavior for when the player fires their weapons.

Changes:

  • Updated PyroCommon to use a different default keybind (F9), and an option to disable the menu entirely. Change the key or disable it, leave me alone.
  • Cleaned up excessive game fibers, think I only use 1 or 2 now. Very small performance gain.
  • Added a feature to automatically create missing DW configs. If you mess them up it will still crash, this is a skill issue and I cannot fix that.

 

Config:

  • Config can now be adjusted via my new plugin manager which you access with 'F9' by default.

    Just got one-shot by a ped with pistol although I could not even see her. Ped accuracy in config is default at 20. Anybody else experienced this or just me?

    How often does it happen? Even with an accuracy of 1 there is a chance of a 1 shot hit, although very very unlikely, still possible.

    So i got a problem, whenever i shoot my gun the backup DOES come, but i don't get affected that much by their guns? i take like 5 percent damage and that's it, vest takes A LOT of bullets, is it something i did in the files?

    Okay I thought I did something wrong because I have the same problem. In my case I disabled the backup as I use Immersive Dispatch/Grammar Police to get immediate backup. However I also seem able to take quite a few hits, the vest even when super low still seems to be helping. I have yet to be gunned down when using this. The enemy accuracy I think does appear to be worse however as I think this plugin does. I have no altered the config values other than the calling for backup on gun fire.

    I have been getting these reports a lot, and every single test I do I can't figure out what the cause it. 50% of people it works fine 50% it doesn't. The code is all clear so I can't figure out why it's not registering when you are shot. I am still looking into it but even with logs and testing I have made 0 progress on finding what is causing it. Sorry 😕

    I haven't tested this yet but I am kinda wondering if some other common plugin is maybe also modifying this? I personally am using all of the plugins from Bejoljo (https://www.bejoijo.com/). I know when I press "G" with StopThePed plugin there is an option there related to enabling and disabling the "Realistic Weapon System". I am curious if maybe that is also doing things that are causing conflict. 

     

    Also the rubber bullets don't seem to work for me. When I go grab either a rifle or a shotgun from my vehicle neither of them have rubber bullets. I tested both the rifle and shotgun as the INI file mentions the shotgun has the rubber bullets whereas this post seems to mention the rifle. Toggling on and off less lethal and lethal correctly indicates the switch in the top right but there seems to be no difference with it on or off with either weapon. In both cases my guns seem just as lethal whether I am close or far from the ped and regardless of where I shoot them.

    Hmm that's strange. And Bejoijo's mods shouldn't cause conflict, the realistic weapon only changes the amount of ammo you carry and it doesn't have any effect on this.

    Plus I use his mods the everything works for me. I'm going to try and find a couple different ways to detect when a ped / the player is shot because the current system isn't perfect. Hard part is finding a way that doesn't lag the game.

    If you're talking to me, yes the AI seem to die quite easily but it's hard to tell if that is default or not. That also relates to my other problem where one shotgun blast with or without rubber bullets on at any distance does the same damage. At mid range it kills them whether rubber bullets are on or not. I'd definitely love to have the rubber bullets working too as it seems like a nice feature! Would be great having more less lethal options!

    I am going to rewrite the plugin soon. I am currently just researching and testing different way to detect when the player or a ped is shot. Right now it just checks the ped you are aiming at but it's slightly delayed so it may miss some peds. It was the best option that didn't cause major lag. So I need to find a better way that doesn't lag.

    As for the player, it's tricky. There is function that literally checks if the player was shot. But it seems like it isn't working 100% of the time, and I am not sure if there is a better way to check.

    Anyways hopefully I will have a better version by October.

    Sounds great! Just yesterday when I was playing I noticed that it did seem to work. I took a few hits from a rifle and I had a spec of health remaining and had started with full body armour. It does seem to be the case that maybe some hits are not triggering 100% of the time. Or maybe the problem is that it isn't as deadly as I expected and I need to increase some of the values in the ini file ;).

    Nah the stock settings are very deadly and are hard coded. In the new version hopefully I can have them configurable. The issue is it just doesn't detect it sometimes.

    I know you can set NOOSE/SWAT to TRUE but I mean like 3 or 4 Local Patrol arrive to the scene.

    Currently re-writing the plugin. This is added already so when it is released you will have the option in the config.

    Every time a suspect pulls out their gun, I immediately die from one shot and it can be anywhere on my body while I'm using full body armor as well.
