Deadly Weapons is a plugin for LSPDFR to add a more dangerous feel to guns. GTA makes people sponges for gameplay, but LSPDFR aims for a more realistic approach.

 

With deadly weapons I increase damage taken by weapons for both the player and AI. Damage varies between limbs and whether the ped is wearing armor or not. It also introduces new auto panic button behavior for when the player fires their weapons.

Changes:

  • Updated PyroCommon to use a different default keybind (F9), and an option to disable the menu entirely. Change the key or disable it, leave me alone.
  • Cleaned up excessive game fibers, think I only use 1 or 2 now. Very small performance gain.
  • Added a feature to automatically create missing DW configs. If you mess them up it will still crash, this is a skill issue and I cannot fix that.

 

Config:

  • Config can now be adjusted via my new plugin manager which you access with 'F9' by default.

    Update 3.0 doesn't seem to be working properly for me, unless it was tweaked. I get shot and nothing really happens other than my vest taking damage after multiple shots, after installing properly with no errors on loading up it also seems peds take a lot of shots from me as well

    I installed it for the first time the other day on the new update and it kept crashing LSPDFR so had to remove it

    If you could provide a log of when the crashed happened then I can fix it. Without a log I can't do anything as it works fine for me and others.

    If you have a log, I could check that it's registering the hits properly. I may also need to adjust damage scales more.

    I have a ticket open in ULSS called "bug report" that has the full log and an explanation.

    Yeah that's not true as it works for everyone else. Make sure you installed it correctly. I also can't do anything on my end to help without a log. You can join my Discord for support.

    Could you update it to where you can select how many code 3 backup you want responding. It would be better if like two or three units responded rather than just one.

    Doesn't seem to be working for me since the update. I see there is an issue in the Known Issues but does this mean it should only affect those with body armour? In my case suspects are taking dozens of shots before being killed.

    I swear, AI in this mod have some inhuman accuracy: immediate headshots before I can even get out of my car. In the older versions of the mod there was an option in the ini for AI accuracy (though it was broken), and I'm hoping that once the new AI update is up and ready it'll make it so AI criminals don't have the accuracy of a demigod. Maybe a good idea in the future if it's possible, is to make it so the damage that the AI and player do can be further tweaked, instead of just disabling all together as an option. Besides that, it's a great mod that keeps me on my toes and goes a long way to making things immersive.

    I love the concept of this mod, and I can't wait to see it develop further.

    However, it seems that for me, the plugin crashes whenever an NPC takes damage from a non-firearm source; a few AI peds died to a vehicle exploding on a patrol of mine (in true LSPDFR fashion, I have absolutely no idea how or why it exploded) and the moment they did, I had the plugin crash notification pop up after about a second or two of lag. Same thing happened a couple days later, when I hit an AI ped by accident with my patrol unit.
    Just now, I did have it seem to crash twice, seemingly out of nowhere. Knowing I have AmbientAICallouts installed, I imagine it's possible that one of my fellow officers hit someone while responding to a call and that triggered the crash.

    If you can provide a log and it shows the crash is related to DeadlyWeapons or the damage framework, we can get it fixed. In my own testing I cannot reproduce this crash as all damage that is not a "bullet" is ignored.

    The accuracy setting that I use does not seem to work. I've asked people in RPH about it as its an issue on their end but they don't respond so I removed the setting entirely. As for the crash, without a log I cannot fix it.

    Awesome plugin! It makes gun fights way better and way more realistic because you cant solo a whole gang, you actually need backup. I also have 2 suggestions

    1. Could you make it so when your hit in the arm it takes away health and not armor? also if your hit in less lethal spots like arm or leg it dosent do as much damage

    2. Also could you make a INI file for changing the ped health?
    Anyways, if you cant do these its fine because this plugin is really good

    #1 - Already part of the plugin. Arms and legs hurt health only. I can't cancel the vanilla damage from GTA though so armor will drop a bit, so this just adds on top of it. Being shot in the legs also has a 50/50 chance to fall over for both peds and player.
    #2 - I won't do this as a lot of other plugins set the peds health, and different peds sometimes have different values so for the sake of compatibility I won't add that.

    This does not make any changes to pursuits or crime reporting, you can send your log when it happens and I may be able to see why.

    Not sure if it's caused by Damage Tracking Framework, but it seems that since the new update in Deadly Weapons, Better EMS for some reason reports every wound as "falling". Before it would always show the actual wounds(They would affect survival rates). I kinda liked Better EMS because of the extra details but now it doesn't seem to work properly after the most recent updates to Deadly Weapons. Or Damage Tracker Framework, don't know which one.

     

    The reason I'm posting here is because as far as I know, Better EMS pulls data from the game, and even though it hasn't been updated for a few years, it worked just a month back. Now it doesn't seem to recognize any damage and just reports everything as "falling".

    Yeah I love better EMS and use it myself. That's an issue with killing someone with code. For some reason it kills them by "falling"

    Ill look into betterems and see if there is an API or something.
