Custom Pullover 1.1.0.1

Jan 2022: If you are having an issue with this plugin please report it on my discord as I don't see all messages here. Please include your reagepluginhook log. Please also understand this is not my code. I can try to help fix issues but it may not always be possible and I do not have the time to rewrite from scratch.

Full disclosure: I did not write the code for this plugin. This code is taken from a great plugin that enhanced LSPDFR written by Albo1125 called Traffic Policer.

While Traffic Policer is still alive, and maintained in Open Source, a lot of its features have now been replaced with newer plugins. There was one feature I really missed, and that was the ability to correct a bad pullover by the AI.

Custom Pullover allows just that. Once the suspect comes to a stop, you can then select from 3 options using your hot keys:

  • Mimic me: The car movements will mimic the movements made by your vehicle
  • Follow me: Pull in front and the suspect will follow you to a new location
  • Custom location: Use the number keys (or what you set in the ini file) to choose a point in front for the suspect to move to

Thanks to @GeoffreyGamer for the above install and demo video

While I did this just for myself, to make my LSPDFR experience a little better - some friends have asked for a copy. So with Albo1125's blessing I release this here for anyone not using Traffic Policer and missing this feature to use as well.

The code is also released on GitHub as the original code open source under GNU General Public License v3.0 (and all I did was pull it together, re-package and test).

If you want to still use Traffic Policer, feel free to check out the links below, as the community are trying to keep this great mod working in future versions of LSPDFR.

Installation:

  1. Copy the .dll and .ini files into your /plugins/LSPDFR/ folder

Good script, this was something I missed from traffic policer as well, yeah its still usable but i prefer not to use old plugins unless I absolutely have to, and this saves me from running a script with a bunch of things I don't need using up more resources, when all i wanted was to control a stopped vehicle. Other updated plugins already provide what albo had and more.

Simple but good. More importantly, it still works.

Custom Pullover is the most helpful thing to come from Albo's open source of Traffic Policer.

    - Kills the need to have the FPS hungry Traffic Policer plugin, which is officially outdated.

    - Easy controls.

    - Easy .ini config file.

    - Lightweight and doesn't grab anymore than a single FPS when using compared to normal gameplay.

    - Easy to installed.

    - Since it's an open source product from Traffic Policer, many original players already know how the plugin behaves.

Great and simple mod. I don't use the Traffic Policer mod anymore, so it's good that I can just download the custom pullover mod and use it.

Very useful since many abandoned Albo plugins aside Bejoijo plugins, and this remained the only function that was missing.

Ok so, i don't see how the follow feature is needed since its already in. At the same time i do because to follow when you have perfomed the stop they don't move (Pretty sure they can but forgot how)

    The other 2 seems good

Thank you for taking the time to make this. It may seem simple but this mod gets used more than most when playing. Keep up the good work "and ignore the naysayers".

Tried it out and has the same functions as in Traffic Policer. So i removed Traffic Policer to save some FPS and have less unnecessary plugins in my game.

Not sure why people are saying that you copied Albo, since Albo literally made his stuff open source.

    Response from the author:

Glad you find this mod useful.

I nearly didn't publish it as I only pulled this together for myself - but as a couple of people I know wanted a copy and after reaching out to Albo (even though it is open source) I decided I should give a little back to the community if I can 🙂

I don't think many people understand what this mod is saying "You just ripped Albo's stuff" even though he made his stuff Open Source for a reason 🤦‍♂️

Anyways I digress. This is a nice and simple mod that takes the best feature of TrafficPolicer and puts it into it's own mod without all the other annoying keys and whatnot from the outdated TrafficPolicer.

I personally am going to continue using TrafficPolicer as I need it for PSR but for people who just want to be able to tell pulled over cars where to go when they stop in the middle of the road this is definitely a great mod. 😄

    Nice Work! 👍

    Response from the author:

Thank you for the kind comments and providing clarity in your review. I hope this mod is useful for people.

Great job on making custom pullovers their own separate thing, but I do have a couple things of note.

    1. The rar file only contains the readme file, dll, and ini. It would be nice if there was a plugins folder containing an LSPDFR folder with those three files (like Traffic Policer). That way, people can easily install it by putting the plugins folder from the rar file into their gta directory.

    2. I noticed in the ini file that the Custom Pullover location key is LCtrl+P. P is the default pause shortcut for Grand Theft Auto V. It would be nice to change it to something like LCtrl+W (Traffic Policer's key combination). Also, Mimic is LCtrl+Q (0.3 traffic policer), but the default police computer conflicts with that. Maybe change it to LCtrl+R, but I am just nitpicking since pressing the Esc button usually makes the vanilla computer go away.

    Response from the author:

Hi, thank you for your feedback.

You are not nitpicking, this is all constructive feedback which I have read in your reviews for other mods in the past 😉

    1. You are right - My bad, trying to get this out late at night before going to bed. This is a quick win to benefit people downloading in the future.

    2. Again, a simple change and re-upload that will benefit future users. As I wrote this originally for me and set up my own keybindings to fit my game setup - I didn't consider that in the .ini when I released the script.

Edit: I did some basic code tidying up today, and took the opportunity to address your feedback at the same time.
