Repeat Offender [Callout] 1.17

   (35 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This will be the first, and short hand release of Repeat Offender series - while I do plan to add more callouts to it, and polish the first one (possible vehicle breaking and entering), I decided since I'm low on time to let everyone have a go at it.  It currently ONLY SPAWNS in the city area, more so in the Davis/Hood area in the southern side of the city.

What to expect :

Real police work.  In short.  You'll have to pay close attention to the suspect (if you find him) and go from there.  Pressing F5 will GIVE YOU OPTIONS.  Sometimes the subject of the call did nothing wrong.

What can happen?  I'll talk about a few out comes because there are literally over 200 different things...

  • Subject runs on sight of police
  • Subject is innocent and hasn't done anything wrong
  • Subject attempts to attack player (sometimes a fatal attack, sometimes not)
  • Subject attempts to drop drugs or stolen items without the player seeing (back track your footchases before calling 10-8!) THESE ITEMS ARE SMALL, YOU'RE THE POLICE, GET YOUR FLASH LIGHT OUT AND GO FIND IT!  Heroin bags, illegal prescriptions, crack pipes, small stolen wallets, he will try to ditch things (SOMETIMES, NOT ALWAYS) Keep that in mind... collected evidence YIELDS POINTS!

Sometimes you cannot take any legal action against the person if you didn't see anything.  When you 10-8 from the call, you'll get a brief of how well you've done.  You can arrest (detain the person) if you wish, however, if you decide not to charge them, releasing them will not count as a negative arrest.

Callouts are entirely way to straight forward so far, lets change that.

Future improve plans :

Implement a proper points system with Albo (and storing / protecting points)

Improve calling the registered owner mechanics / handling

Add ability to request K9 if subject dropped items / might have dropped items while fleeing

Improve brief screen on arrest (brain storming ideas still.)

Whatever else the community says that makes practical / logical police work sense to add into the callout.  I already have additional callouts PLANNED however.

What's New in Version 1.17

Released

Added ability to set Menu Key in the INI (had a few free minutes)

Decided to increase the buffer zone slightly for callout (will trigger more) MOSTLY HAPPENS IN DAVIS/CHAMBERLAINHILLS AREA, However, can spawn in Vespucci, Pillbox, and Downtown.

If this is just a taste.. then I am an addict.   This.. this adds some real on the ground police type work.  You need to watch those perps to find out what the real deal is.. and find the evidence. Or sometimes.. just question in the right way..

Albo pretty much summed everything up with his review. This mod actually requires REAL police work, rather than just showing up and taking everyone that doesn't look right to jail. I love the amount of depth put into this callout, that's something that I've always loved about your work FinKone!

Love this callout!  I can only imagine how this is going to grow.  It adds such a realistic aspect to the patrol when this call comes over the radio.  You actually have to pay attention, and think during this callout.  Great work, FinKone!  I just had the scenario where the guy didn't commit a crime.  Cleared the call just as it was supposed to be.  I love the fact that this callout isn't always run and gun so to speak.  If you don't have this callout in your LSPDFR installation, get it quick!

@FinKone @Albo1125 @DCP1293 Gentlemen. Let me be blunt. You have seriously outdone yourselves here. If this is the beginning of this callout and your expectation is to make it better, then you all deserve some kind of gaming award. I have every major callout in the game and this has just taken it to another level. The immersion, the entire policing of the callout is just awesome. I thought I had one small hiccup when giving my suspect instructions (The red, hands up etc), it restricted me from actually asking for ID and cuffing him. But it might have been my fault somewhere. Nonetheless this is incredible. 5/5 doesn't begin to justify the awesome power/potential this callout has. Gentlemen, A+.

EDIT: I clicked 5 stars I have no idea why my pc is being dumb and didn't submit 5 stars.

Finkone, Man to say this is legit is an understatement. Everything is straight forward. The interaction menu is amazing. At no point in my first callout was I lost. What I love most about it. Is the fact that there is no easy dots to go to. But its still not difficult to go where you need to go. If your lost you can communicate with dispatch or the caller to help find the suspect. When you do find the suspect the menu eliminates keybinding issues. So you are not fumbling around trying to find what button needs to be pushed...

There needs to be a sixth star...

    Awesome job man!!

    Response from the author:

Thank you that review - a lot of testing went into this to see what became annoying, pointless, or not fluid.  Most of the time was invested into "suggesting" to the player options or things to do - and most people seem to be getting it.  I cannot wait to make more detailed callouts in the future, I had fun on this one.

Gotta find that free time though, this stuff don't pay the bills. ;(

Well, what can i say? It's like with the stuff from Albo. If you see something new from Kone, Albo, alexguirre.... you know it's awesome stuff. By the way. FinKone, you need to cancel your job or study and concentrate on LSPDFR only.

One day I'll be rich beyond my wildest dreams, and I'll just sit around on the beach with a 3 monitor setup in the shade (while someone brings me beer) and just code my little heart away as the ocean clashes in the background.  ... Lawl.

After many hours of testing and just messing around with this callout mod I still find myself in some sticky situations from time to time. the attention to detail is unmatched by most (if not all) current callouts available right now, pure fun all the time!

The one thing I hope other developers take from this is to focus on quality over quantity.

This is exactly what I have been waiting for in lspdfr. Its nice to have the occasional shoot out or high pursuit, but I enjoy putting my mind to work and actually feel like I'm doing real police work. Also by me being a criminal justice practitioner its nice to put my skill to work in a fun manner. I have removed all other plugins with the exception of traffic policer, arrest manger, and police radio. so I could spawn this callout and I am very impressed. I have completed the callout 20 times or more just to see the different out comes. every time I truly feel like I need to pay more attention so I do not miss any details. I would love to get a perfect score but I feel that is impossible. I have even customize a personal character for this type of police work. This callout in my opinion adds more realsm to lspdfr. thank you for bringing us the repeat offender. If you have not downloaded this DO IT NOW or miss out on greatness lol

    5/5 for me

    To the LSPDFR Community...

Can this become the new standard? We already have a standard of blip colors, but can the options (menu) here become the new standard? 5/5, absolutely recommended.
