About This File

https://albo1125.com

Modding DLC Pack V allows for a simplified installation process of peds, weapons, vehicles and meta file entries - both for addons and replacements.

After installing the Modding DLC Pack V OIV file, you can do the following, all from one central folder:

  • Install unlimited addon/replacement peds and addon peds.meta entries;
  • Install replacement weapons;
  • Install unlimited addon/replacement vehicles including support for vehicles.meta, carvariations.meta and handling.meta;
  • Add custom names to your (addon) vehicles;
  • Easily restore all of the above after a GTA 5 update.

Please ensure to carefully read the supplied README.pdf file for tutorials and guides on how to do all of the above. I have also done a video tutorial series (see above) showing how to perform all of the above properly.

Many thanks to @festivalmatt for his very many valuable contributions to Modding DLC Pack V.

Credits for the included gameconfig.xml file go to Dilapidated.

Please do not reupload or redistribute Modding DLC Pack V as a standalone file. If you would like to use Modding DLC Pack V as a base to release a pack of mods or similar, that’s fine - please include credit and a link back to this original Modding DLC Pack V ☺

    Where are you installing these cars?  For Police3 slot or for add-on?

    That green texture you are seeing is basically no texture.  It can't find one.

    If you look at the vehicle model in OpenIV is the texture showing up properly there or are you also seeing the lack of a proper texture?

    Replacers work fine. Addons are what break. Yep, textures work fine in OIV. Copied the metas and such exactly in the video. Hell even wrote the files exactly the same. I'm gonna see if I can get RDE to work, and I'll come back to cars at a later time. Getting frustrated lol. (I used to add cars in GTA4 all the time, but GTA5? Pfft)

    In vehicles.meta, are the texture names matched up with the model name?  These are the very first lines of the vehicles.meta entry for your car.

    For example, whatever the .yft and .ytd files are, they need to be the same.  But you already know that they are named correctly as the textures show up properly in openiv.  For whatever reason, GTAV is having difficulty finding the texture files, but is finding the model files just fine.

    Are you adding a carvariations entry as well for the same vehicle model?

    That's the only reason I would think of why your add-on cars were not spawning with any texture.

    Hey thanks for the link ..... I took from the DL the one with the 1x Gameconfig but to no avail ..... still the same problem " police11 spawned " but no vehicle to see ....

    Are you adding a carvariations AND a vehicles.meta entry for police11?  Also, are you using a trainer to spawn, or are you using the Rage console to type "spawn police11"?  WITHOUT quotes, of course.

    it shows up in openIV just fine and the naming of yft and ytd are also the same.

    Did do the carvariations entry also ..... did add both carvariations.meta and vehicles.meta.

    I did use the trainer and I think I tryed it with the  rage console as well ....

    When I get home I will redo the whole car again and let you guys know

    Problem solved.....

    First of all thanks to everybody who tried to help a bob like me .....

    What was wrong? because of the initial crash with this mod I assumed that the location for the vehicles.meta was wrong and put it in the spot where "only in game vehicles" go .... I misread there something.

    In that place it did not work but the real culprit was an outdated gameconfig.xml and after bringing this back up to date I did not change the location hence no vehicle there.

    Now I did put it again where it according to the guide belongs and can you believe it ..... there it stands in all its beauty :-)

    Thank you so much.

    Glad you got it worked out.

    The default vanilla location for vehicles.meta and carvariations is only for police1, police2, police3, police 4, sheriff1, sheriff2, fbi, fbi2, riot, pranger, lifeguard, firetruk, ambulance, etc.

    If you added this coding in carvariations and vehicles.meta in Albo's modding folder, GTAV would ignore it as the game will simply look in the vanilla location first and that file location will take priority.

    Yeah, followed every step. RDE cars crash my game too, even with an updated gameconfig. The scripts work fine, and as soon as I delete the mods folder (containing all RDE's car/ped models,) the game works fine. Idunno. Think I'll run vanilla for a little while and wait for updates, etc.

    I don't know enough about it to be able to offer any suggestions.  As a side tip, are you sure that you are using an updated game config for the latest version of GTAV?

    When I updated my game config last week, I followed a tutorial for modifying the game config and adding "100" to all sorts of these values.  That way, if you follow the tutorial, you can do it yourself and make sure that you are doing it right and modifying the latest game config rather than downloading and installing a game config that someone else modified.

    Hey Albo!

    Great mod also very helpful video series, great explanation and overall a great job. I have a problem though that adding more than 3 vehicles causes the game to crash. I've installed 3 cars (as ADD ONs) from the CHP pack however installing a 4th vehicle whether from the CHP pack or a random car from anywhere else crashes the game on loading. I've deleted the 4th vehicle line in carvariations and vehicles.meta redone it, checked it and basically repeated everything over and over again to no avail it crashes the game every time.

    However, get rid of the 4th car and everything works again so do you or anyone else knows how to fix this? Its driving me crazyyyy:wacko:

    any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks again and great mod:thumbsup:

    Did you download and install the newest GameConfig for GTAV version 1365? If you look in Albos Modding DLC Pack V README PDF, he states in there which one to use.

    You must be doing something wrong with your coding.  I have made many mistakes that caused my game to crash.

    yep got it to work now, I thought albo didn't need us to download that gameconfig file as he already has it in the mod but I did what you told me and I now have 10 extra police cars to run around with :teehee:

    I am having a problem installing the oiv package. Other packages work fine but for some reason this one doesn't. I attached my error log.

    Note: I am using a junction from:

    To:

    I had one issue where I was using SHERIFF2 handling.....but there is no sheriff2 handling, so that was crashing my game lol. PSA for those that don't know; SHERIFF2 uses FBI2 for its handling.. lol

    Yes.  I always use POLICE handling for Crown Victorias (but there IS a SHERIFF handling as well even though they are the same car!) and FBI2 for Suburban or Tahoe.

    I do believe there is an FBI handling, but likewise, I also only use POLICE2 for Chargers and Caprice and POLICE3 handling for Taurus Sedan, Impala, Explorer Utility, etc.

    There is also the Granger handling.  I am not sure how this differs from FBI2.

    Or PRANGER.  I believe this also uses its own handling file?  LGUARD handling seems to be very slippery even on dry pavement!

    Not for the Sheriff Granger it seems. I had an FPIU for police7, and I had the handling for SHERIFF2, always crashed. I looked at the carvars, and sheriff2 uses FBI2 for handling, switched my FPIU/police7 to use FBI2 handling, works just fine. Idunno, I always use Police for CVPIs, polic2 for chargers, etc, etc.

    Yes, there is a FBI, FBI2, Police, and Sheriff handling, but as you said, no Sheriff2 handling.

    I think FBI2 is a bad choice for your Utility's handling anyway.  Police3 or Gresley is a better choice for a V6 SUV or Sedan.
