PCSO re-texture for British police officer 1.0.0

   (2 reviews)

6 Screenshots

This is a re-texture of the police officer created by 'AmateurModder',  this allows you to play with the PCSO in gta 5.

To install go to mods>x64e>models>cdimages>componentpeds_s_m_y.rpf and replace sheriff files with the ones in the archive.

To install PCSO hat go into

GTA V > x64e.rpf > models > cdimages > pedprops.rpf and replace the files with the ones in this mod.

This is my first re-texture so please do not judge my work as if I was a professional.

Feel free to edit and upload on LCPDFR.com BUT GIVE CREDITS!

Do not upload to any other sites.

Credits to:

AmateurModder for the model

The British Mighty for the hat texture

Future updates:

Female ped version

Traffic variation

New cap

@amateurModder I'm trying to edit a texture on your uniform yet it won't let me do that at all, is the model locked? This guy seems to have done it just fine but I'm having more difficulties

What is your problem? What are you having difficulties with? I can help.

Maybe afterwards, since there is no actual force similar to PCSO in GTA 5 "slots".

You can use csb_trafficwarden or ig_trafficwarden slots.
Plus for those that have custom dlcpacks, they can just rename the ped and have s_m_y_pcso_01 just fine :)

task_002 would be a better kit layout for pcso for sure, but we cant setup the ped to spawn using just that unless we swap the vests around after exporting it using openiv (or using custombackup mod perhaps), but openiv crashes when trying to export the ped so we cant do that ourselves for our own game.
Not entirely sure why your ped crashes openiv, other modded peds dont seem to, so its def something youd have to do in order to have it.

Unfortunately, the fact it has cuffs, spray and taser on means its not suitable as a pcso ped. Hopefully @amateurModder will do a male and female ped with the vest, pouches and radio only for a pcso.

Sorry, main priority now are traffic/bike uniforms with proper open helmet, then rural uniforms with new type of vest. Maybe afterwards, since there is no actual force similar to PCSO in GTA 5 "slots". There is a model of task with only cuffs and baton. (task_002) so it will work better (still not the best) if you go on duty with that.

My comment on skin:

1. The blue is a bit too "bright"/"saturated". It should be more calm color (but that's only for my taste)

2. You should take also the new pedprops, with new badges

3. Front patch "metropolitan police" and "police" should be changed to "police community.... " and "PCSO".

4.

"     police

   community

support officer", would look better on the back. (but that's only for my taste)

5. The pepper spray should be made all black or whatever, to not catch you sight and say - that's definitely a pepper spray.

6. Keep it up! ;)

Yeah, i thought that comment was too argumentative which isnt what i meant! So i retyped.

Authorised to carry is different to the force actually allowing them to carry it, like i said. I challenge you to find me a picture of a genuine regular pcso with spray, they simply dont allow it.

Its a great first skin. You have the right blue colour i think.

Id check the back badge and sortout the writing as its too close to the side edges. I know that back badge is a bit of a pain to texture, but you have a few different choices of badge style for met pcsos so you should be ok finding one to fit nicely.

The shoulder numbers, as seen in the pic, need slight adjusting to be more centered.

To make the ped a bit different to the regular officer, you could put the pcso title (in some way) on one of the front badges if you like, i think that in respect of it being a game and to differentiate easier, its perfectly acceptable. 😀

its a shame we cant export the ped with openiv to swap some parts around and make it less tasery, but it crashes openiv for some reason. Other modified peds dont so its odd.

I did sort out the front badge before even posting but I've just realized that I've only done it on the black west, so that will get patched also thx for the improvements that can be made I'll work on it, also did u use the ped in game at all? If yes what do you think?

No, if you look it up, the powers afforded to them vary from force to force as does kit. Granted some may allow them to carry certain bits of kit or authorise them but not supply, but it does differ force to force and being authorised to carry it and being allowed to carry it is different. They have to be a very seperate entity in the publics eye to that of a Police Officer.

I dont believe anywhere has PCSOs that carry or use spray or cuffs. I would welcome being shown different as its an interesting topic.

I would like you to see your PCSO skin with a taserless officer :)

Yeah the taser Is the unrealistic bit, but in fact if you look it up PCSO are not issued but are authorized to carry and use pepper spray and cuffs.

Thanks for the comment though! ;)

Cant be bothered to argue, but spray is a section 5 firearm, pcsos cannot cary them. Cuffs in some places, yes maybe so. Powers themselves differ force to force. And obviously tasers a no no. Could retexture the spray to hand disinfectant though?
