As many of you will be aware and have experienced, our sever infrastructure has been the victim of an absolutely relentless denial of service attack campaign against it which has resulted in our website, Teamspeak and SA-MP servers being laggy, unresponsive and at times completely unreachable. The problem here is that these attacks have lasted well over 2 weeks now, and they have been aimed at us for most of the day which is actually having a significant impact. Because of this, our server's resources are being stretched to the absolute limit with the huge amount of legitimate traffic we receive every day, as well as the non-stop DDoS attacks and SYN/UDP floods. While we have been able to combat them somewhat with our firewall and hosting company, it's simply not been enough and as a result we have been more or less powerless against the attacks.

We have, therefore, had to purchase another server which will operate in conjunction with our existing dedicated server. This should result in us being able to prevent and mitigate attacks much easier which means that downtime should decrease significantly. This isn't cheap, however, so if you would like to help us out a little and donate towards the server costs, then that would be appreciated.

I'm not so familiar to what this all means, can you explain it to me please? I'm curious to know :) Does it have to do with a group of hackers or something trying to hack LCPDFR? Or people just attacking the site for now reason? Thanks Guys, or Sam! :) BTW, I love LCPDFR :D

The LCPDFR site is being attacked...simple as that. It's more than likely a group of people doing it.

rockstar probolay hired people to shut us down...Thats what sm1 said (*highly unlikely*) But isn't there a way to find out who is launching these cyber attacks? and if not you have a case with the fib cyber division because hacking into a website like this is highly illegal if you feel its necessary you should definitely contact them about this.

LCPDFR has actually given Rockstar quite alot of money, alot of people buy GTA IV just to play LCPDFR. :P

I don't think GPM's doing it since they've recently had a few attacks as well.

No, it is not, the so called "Fued" between the communities has been put to rest quite a long time ago now, plus, they are also the victim of these attacks, some one is obviously just attempting to stir up drama between different communities, leave it at "We don't know", we don't need to point fingers, that's just exactly what these people want us to do.

Is this a joke? Like seriously? Please tell me your joking...
1. Rockstar Games is a legitimate company, they don't have time/the need to even come close to doing such a thing, plus they wouldn't risk being sued, and gain no beatifically from doing such an idiotic thing.
2. We've given alot of revenue to Rockstar, hence, alot of people buy the game simply to play the modification.
3. I'm pretty sure you mean "FBI", and in this case, it's extremely hard to track down where the attacks are coming from, and even then, it's still hard to link them to the source.

I'm kinda getting tired of hearing the stuff like "Contact FBI!" or "Fix it already!" Etc etc, listen, law enforcement would never care, it's not their job, and in terms of cyber security, there onto bigger things, not helping out a Game modification site, if you want to help, do what Sam said, consider a donation to support us with our new server infrastructure, plus, all of this is coming out of our own pockets, so when you do, it actually does go to helping the site.

Cloudflare only does so much unfortuantly. It's pretty easy to find the main IP of our servers if you know what you're doing. Once you have that, you can bypass Cloudflare entirely.

These attacks are starting to piss off a lot of us, both for the site and the sa-mp server. We've had many awesome RP situations ruined due to the lag it causes, such as losing the suspect vehicle in a chase as one second its stationary then the next its lag-spiked a mile up the road.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much more the guys can do to stop it. This is the most relentless attack I've seen.

Yep, Me and my MP group use the teamspeak server during the weekends and sometimes in the week, but because of the attacks, the TS server has been down quite a lot of the time we have needed it.

Looking at the status page yesterday made me realise how powerful the attacks are, which also makes me realise how much your tech must cost to keep us up through it. I'm going to donate as soon as I get any cash..

Trust me, if it wasn't for Sam and Jay's relentless efforts to upgrade the firewall and the DDoS protection, the site would've been dead weeks ago.

Either accept that they are doing this for free or leave. Your choice.
