Hi all!
I'll post my script mods in this thread.

vdH TowingService 2.0.0
My first ever script :) Huge amount of new knowledge, for me. Nice little feature for you.

Features

  • 3 modes: normal (default), fast (truck spawns nearby and drives away with a car, recommended) and rapid (truck spawns nearby and disappears with a car)
  • 4 types of transport (vans for bikes, flatbeds for cars, drivers, mechanics and helicopters for bigger vehicles, deleting car in extreme cases)
  • two dispatchers and various dynamic sentences for them and tow truck driver
  • advanced truck positioning system
  • dynamic car on truck placement, so there is strong possibility that your moded cars will work!
  • support of moded flatbeds (see settings INI file)
  • ability to choose colours and a name for towing company
  • EFLC support
  • Multiplayer support*
  • vdH PoliceHelper support!

*mod supports multiplayer. Mod will automatically turn to mode 2. EFLC specific features were not tested in multiplayer

I know it's very difficult to script such a thing, so very good job.
Perhaps to expand the system; drive up into a certain position in front/behind the vehicle, so it will look like it'll load up?
A position like below
Posted Image
After that parkup, then warp it on top of the vehicle.

Still like the system though, keep it up.Looking forward for more.

Intensified that would be awesome, but we all know how AI in GTA drives. Also with script you can only tell driver to go to certain point but you can't tell him which way he should park a car. Also imagine what carnage would make a truck ramming all cars in its way just to park next to car to pick up.
But I still hope that this script will help some people to deal with abandoned cars and bikes. We all use tons of imagination playing LCPD:FR so I think it will be good enough ;)

I've listed features that are currently done and those that I plan to add to final version.

PS: On video you can see that car is rapidly moving into position on flatbed but in game it is instant, also trucks have forced headlights, hazard lights, and happily use their horn arriving to destination :)

Very promising. What would be a great addition, a feature where you can hook the car up and drag it behind you. (like the NYPD towtrucks). Maybe you could work together with Kevin and see if he can make you a towtruck model with a lowerable hook (would be non-els then).

It is indeed promising. Break, I'm not sure about the lowerable hook though, it could maybe be achieved with EPM but then again I have no knowledge of the mod.

What I do like about this mod is the fact that the vehicles can be kept perfectly steady without any strange collisions or anything, that being said, I think there is a major need for a mod like this in the community, keep up the work!

Doesn't need to be animated, just have it switch from up position to down.

This would work perfectly with (I think its Kevins?) NYPD Towtruck. Hook the car up to the grapples on the back :D

I'd be happy with just the way it is. People ask for too much. Oh we want a towing mod, oh we want a super mega awesome towing mod, oh and could you add this just for me because I'm special. Great stuff! Excellent work.

btw, i'm just yanking on everyones chain so lighten up if you took offense

Ok. First of all you have to remember that AI drives flatbets, not player. Second thing, I've planned to take a look at TLAD tow truck and if I could make it work it will work also for modded ones. Maybe without animated hook (I can swith it if it is trated as an "extra"). So there is a slight chance, but I can't promise anything. I focus on flatbeds now.

wow can't wait for it, look's very promising, now all we need is a Tow Truck with a functional Stinger, might be possible with EPM, sadly, i think EPM is an aqcuired taste and i don't think it work's with ELS

Awesome! A little odd with the teleport but that's not out of line with other mechanics in mods and the game.

Awesome woud love to see this brought in as an interaction beyond giving a ticket to a stationary vehicle in LCPD:FR eventually. Get all those people who park by fire hydrants and bus stops!

Is this only compadable with EFLC or regular GTA:IV too?

EDIT: nevermind, I misread it!

Spaced on that concept! Now I can implement Liberty City's new "Ticket and Tow It" program for first-time offenders!

Maybe an eventual feature could give us plate running in FR, with a display for tickets and other info to make stops and ticketing a little more varied.

I takes a lot more to offend me ;) We all want good mods and I want to create one too, but there are many many limitations, so there will be no perfect mod, as GTA isn't perfect.
I wanted suggestions and got them, some impossible, some worth considering. I'm amazed how many features people can come up with just for simple tow mod :)

wow can't wait for it, look's very promising, now all we need is a Tow Truck with a functional Stinger, might be possible with EPM, sadly, i think EPM is an aqcuired taste and i don't think it work's with ELS

Stinger? Is that lowered thingy to mount on front wheels of a car? As I said, I'll try to tow with TLAD tow truck, but I have no idea how it will end.

Awesome! A little odd with the teleport but that's not out of line with other mechanics in mods and the game.

Some cars even can't ride on Packer's ramp, so teleport is a must. Also it will be instant in game. I don't know why video has this animation.

And that's exactly what it is :)

Would be awesome, but making plate running outside FR, not connected to FR police database? Meh. Also FR for now doesn't have any API so interaction with it is very limited I think (got plans for other mods that will need it, so I'll find out in futire).
