I've put together a simple script which can be used to role-play a road-side breath test. A traffic stop isn't complete without a breath test!

At the minute the test will work anywhere close to a vehicle with a driver and the results will show up as text to the top of the screen.  It doesn't look great I know but unfortunately I'm not sure how to have text display elsewhere yet. The limit is set to the real limit in the UK, namely 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.  If a driver blows over the limit (36+) there is a chance they will attempt to flee from you. You can change the limit and the type of test (US or UK) in the ini file.  The US test will show a percentage of BAC.

Things I'd like to change:
  • Set keys in ini file Completed in Version 1.5+!
  • Use pictures (from the MDC) in-game of a breath testing kit with a different display for each result
  • If not pictures, have results show as text somewhere else on screen
  • Start only if you're stood beside the driver's door
Traffic management

I've also included three extra commands in the script, one to stop the closest vehicle, one to allow the closest vehicle to drive on and another to allow any vehicles you stop to drive on.  If you stop a vehicle in this manner, vehicles to the rear will not attempt to haphazardly over-take, they will queue up and wait.  Gone are the days of large-scale incidents being infested by horrible AI driving trying to do everything in their power to get in your way!

NOTE ON STOPPING VEHICLES: You must be on foot and close to (~5 metres) the vehicle you wish to stop with this script. It will NOT work whilst you're in a vehicle as it is not intended to replace the LCPDFR traffic stop feature.  Rather it's purpose is to assist you in keeping traffic stopped and out of the way of your incident.

It seems to work well, controls will take a bit of getting use to though.
I'm using it on the US system and my readings are always like 0.77166548161847 with several numbers after the decimal point. It isn't a major issue and it's probably just down to the simple conversion formula but would it be possible to cut it to only 3 or four numbers of the decimal point for the US standard?

Why can't i download it? It's says i have no permission
haha this is great...seems like friday nights party are over!!! But i can't stop a vehicle pressing Alt + G, even changed my button for the horn to something else but it doesn't work, everything else is fine. Script crashed after 20 minutes.

I'm not asking you to do it but i think it would be cool if you could stop people on the street and charge them for being drunk and disorderly only because you get drunk people as world events but cant do anything apart from arrest them.......
However please dont feel i'm saying to do it....im just greatfull for the work you've done ;o)

Really adds to the RP factor
Good Job... one thing i got a null reference error while using it. It took me a while to figure out how to avoid these. The scripts have the built in function Exists() but that only tests the variable/object if it is a valid GTA.base.object and is still in the game (I think thats the d type i can't remember). I just figured this out yesterday that you need to check to see if the variable that contains the ped to test to see if it is null (i.e. If(ped!=null) then do something). I think that is what it was because I was standing outside a vehicle with the driver after a LCPDFR traffic stop when I got the error. Also I attached an example script of something I am working on currently. It has some functions for drawing text to the screen it's very basic. There is a way to change the font and stuff it should be in the example scripts from the scripthook. Oh it is written in c# so i hope you understand that language if not there is a great tutorial that i used to get started just let me know and i'll find the link. here is the link to the script https://dl.dropbox.c...adarDetector.cs
ALT+G to stop the traffic does not seem to work for me. Any advice?
