DESCRIPTION
− ELS provides an alternate and incredibly in-depth way of controlling emergency vehicle lights and sounds.
− ELS requires vehicle models specifically designed to make use of its features.
− ELS includes over 200 unique lighting patterns scattered across 4 light groups and lighting formats.

NOTES
Please consult the ELS USER GUIDE and other provided documentation prior to using ELS.

− As of V1.00 ELS is not compatible with any form of multiplayer.
− A visual enhancement mod is recommended to improve the appearance of ELS lights in game.

Absolutely gorgeous modification!

ELS can be seen as some kind of game in itself. It is hard to describe how quickly the hours go by while driving around, playing with your different light patterns, controlling your sirens and shooing traffic out of the way like a true boss. An enormous amount of work has been put into making this modification a stable, enjoyable experience for even novice users. I thank @Lt.Caine for his tremendous achievement and countless hours of hard work - and also for giving me the opportunity to be part of ELS's development by playing a testing role.

My full, indepth video review covering nearly all of ELS's features from the ground up can be found here:

Go get it while it's hot! 5/5.

A nice first release of ELS. Pleased to have this kind of control. It's impressive, but there are some issues that need to be addressed:

  • As others have mentioned, the horn-honk-get-out-of-the-way AI is badly broken
  • It would be nice if it would remember the pattern settings you set for each vehicle model. At the very least within 1 session, preferably saved to the VCF file under a section like "LastUserSettings". Make it optional in case people want to be able to start fresh every time.
  • Traffic advisor patterns are buried in the warning light patterns. It would be nice to have a key to quickly switch to the most recently selected arrow pattern. Something like Shift+LeftArrow to switch to the last-used left traffic advisor pattern, Shift+RightArrow for the right, Shift+UpArrow for the most recent center-out TA pattern, and Shift+DownArrow for the most recent warning TA pattern.

Looking forward to future updates!

@Lt.CaineThis mod is amazing. So well needed, and I've been waiting for it for a VERY long time!

However, I have discovered a minor bug that can be annoying, it is when you pull someone over, and they pullover, but say you don't like where they pull over, so you hold down the horn at them. They accelerate very quickly in a straight line, even if there's a turn or people in their path. A way around it is when they pull over, you simply can press shift to cancel the traffic stop, then re-initiate it. I have videotaped the event. (it will happen with any suspect vehicle, time, location, weather, road condition, etc.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPpeIAOrUuI&feature=youtu.be

Edit: Still not fixed (for me at least) as of ELS version 1.05.

EDIT EDIT: Turns out this is a feature, not a bug. In your ELS.ini file, make sure to change "ElsTrafCtrlOn" to false.

Being ELS and all, its got all the core functions, but its still got bugs.

Bugs:

-The "steady burn" extra_ten doesn't activate on AI spawned vehicles

-Most of the time, AI cars spawn without any lighting activated

-Distance coronas show through solid objects

-Take downs and scene lights have issues with the direction the environmental effects face. I may have a frontal aux light that shines forward along with the axes, but the env will reflect to the back of the car. This occurs no matter which way I face the axes.

Improvements to mention:

Not sure if this is possible or not, but a way to activate certain sirens with the stages. So if I put siren1 and siren2 on two rear flashers that activate on LSTG 1, only those sirens will activate on the stage. It'd be lots more helpful to us who do halogen lighting effects and don't want to use blinking meshes.

I thought I could live without this, oh boy, how wrong I was.

Sorry, SirenMastery, but ELS is back to take its spot.

As someone who didn't play LCPDFR and didn't experience ELS until now, I was so excited to try it.  I've seen countless of ELS in videos, but always wondered how it was.  I am speechless at the customization.  Speechless at what we do.  I love being able to have traffic advisor only, or just warning lights only.  It's amazing!   I am having some issues with customization (corona sizes) not working, and one other issue that I'll get more into.

ELS is highly unstable.  It'll randomly stop working, then randomly start again.  In some cases, we (yes, several users) have to go about troubleshooting and doing our own fix.  The latest version of ELS was worse than the first in terms of stabilization.  I had held off on upgrading my ELS because I predicted there might be some troubles.  I don't see myself upgrading it at any point in the near future until things are more ironed out.

The Modification itself would deserve 5/5*, but it's really annoying that i can't change the Controller Setup, because i use the "A" Key to pull over a vehicle, and i do not really need this Light mode attached to "A" on my Controller, so what would you think about an extended Configuration File where i'm able to disable functions? And yes, i could just change the Pull Over Key in LSPDFR, but i still wouldn't use the function, and i would really prefer to use the A Key to pull a vehicle over... (By the way, i f there is a way to disable the function please tell me. I've already tried to remove the key -ID, didn't work, keep in mind, i'm using a controller.)

I please you to implement a "function disabler for Controller" or Custom Controller Setups. Would be really helpful. :)

greetings, Nexus.

Holy macaroni! You gotta give these guys a HUGE THANK YOU for the amazing work! Even though it took a while, it was definitely worth the wait!

And, also recommending Make Visuals Great Again for visual enhancements for use with ELS V.

Been waiting for this ever since LSPDFR came out, 10/10 did not disappoint. Only thing i've noticed that in in pursuits and when i pull somebody over the AI likes to just keep driving in a straight line through everything whenever i turn my siren on.

ELS 1.05 does not work at all, No menu, no buttons work, no lights, go to 1.00 if you want ELS to work.

I like most of what this mod does however I have several problems with it.

1) It clutters up an already cluttered controller with no option to change or remove controller buttons. When I'm using the controller and scrolling through things like backup menus, it turns off the lights and siren. It just takes up too many buttons on the controller. Just add the ability to remove contoller use or at least reassign controller buttons.

2) It tries to do too many things at once like both siren and light controls. It only needs to handle lights, let Albo's siren mastery handle the sirens. It's far easier to configure Siren Mastery's sirens than it is to do in ELS. It's just a lot more work to add sirens and makes it a pain to switch between using els and non-els vehicles.

3) I tried changing the configuration file so the "R" key no longer controls the manual siren and instead totally remove the manual siren but it changed nothing.

I'd like to see more user control and customization in the areas of siren control, controller functionality, and compatibility with siren mastery.

KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid

 It'll just make things easier.

That being said I do absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the light controls! Good work!

The only reason I didn't 5 stars is because the controller can't be disabled.

The buttons interfere with other mods. Other than that, top work as always.

To be honest, I'm not that enthusiastic about this mod. It's fun to change the light pattern, but that's it. With all the new vehicles being released you are almost forced to use this mod, but it's crap. Okay, not completely, but it has some annoying bugs that ruins the gameplay.

First, AI only has the priority siren. It's hella annoying. Please change that.

Second, if you blip or change your siren behind a suspects vehicle, it just speeds off in a straight line until it crashes into something. I know you can fix this by disabling something in the INI, but please, why do WE have to fix that and not YOU?

This mod is fun to use, it is, but there are some bugs which are known for a very long time, but just not being fixed. Fix it.

I loved this mod - while it worked.

Without installing any new mods the ELS just broke. An I am not alone in this, others had the same thing. I have reinstalled all mods and it is still down.

Will go up to 5 stars if fixed
